I saw Chas & Dave supporting Led Zeppelin at Knebworth in 1978. They weren't bad actually - being proper blues musicians before becoming a "Gor Blimey missus, where's me traahsis" cockernee tribute act. Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen were the best support act on the bill that day though.
I saw Chas & Dave at some East End revival show in London. They were OK, the rest of the acts were utter ****e but the blue rinse brigade loved them. We were practically the only young people in the audience and we'd only gone along to see Mike Reid who had a bit of a cult following amongst the yoof at the time. The blue rinse brigade looked really pleased to see that lovely Frank Butcher walk out on stage. Then he let rip with 20 minutes of ****s and ****s. Made it even funnier.
