The Journalists who were kept in the hold of the ship for the two hours preceding that assault? The journalists who say they never got on deck until after the firing had started?

We all live in a world that has failed both Israel and Iran. How can we say one nation is any more or less responsible, when will we realise that all nations are responsible for the Middle East and every individual within them.

Israel or at least a Jewish homeland is something the Jewish people have hoped for the millennia, who can blame them, for they have endured far more persecution as a people than we can imagine. However as is often the case the abused becomes the abuser. The people of Israel are slowly starting to feel this truth, thus the denial and anger aimed at those around has started whilst they come to terms with it. This situation will not be accepted and resolved overnight, it is something that Israel will have to come to terms with over time & generations.

Iran is also a country trying to find its place in a changing world. It is a nation controlled by religion, yet held together by faith. It’s a young nation, following the Islamic Revolution of 1979 the Iran has found few international allies in the west due to the cold war. This position was entrenched by western nations building stronger links throughout the cold war with the Sunni Islam nations in the middle east. So Iran finds it is sandwiched between two countries recently at war with western forces, and without many local allies.

The fact is that neither nation is without guilt.
But neither is in a position to cast the first stone of blame.

We need to realise in our homes in Europe and America how lucky we are. Our neighbours are no longer at war, we do not find ourselves surrounded by countries dedicated to another religion, and we do not have individuals in other countries trying to stir up hatred where none is required.

Peace out.

Bollocks

There is no Israelite equivalent to Hamas/Hezbollah/Islamic Jihad
There is no Israelite equivalent to homicide bombers
There is no Israelite equivalent to Arab dictatorship
There is no Israelite equivalent to teaching children to hate
The Israelis do not emulate the Nazis in any way

There are a lot of supposed care for humanity people who condemn Israel but say nothing about Somalia/Darfur/Kurdistan/Syria/Tibet/Armenia/North Korea/China

i take it you havent herd of Lehi? haganah? irgun?

or the gush emunim underground, or TNT or defending shield

or kach or kahane chai

A letter from a Jewish child to a Palestinian child, said, “I hope you and your family will burn in hell.” These ugly expressions and desires come from an Israeli child who took part in a research study. The study was conducted by an Israeli researcher and translated into Arabic. The study was presented to a teaching committee at the London School of Economics (LSE). The researcher is a former soldier and a member of the anti-terrorist unit in the Israeli army. He studied psychology at the LSE.

Irgun came from fighting against Britain

One letter from a Jewish child to an Arab child is not equivalent to suicide/homicide bombings by Arabs

The fact is that a partition of the British Palestinian mandate was proposed (the Western half being Jewish and the Eastern half being Arab)

The Jews said yes. The Arabs said no.

If this whole dispute was really about creating a country called Palestine then it would have been solved when Egypt and Jordan controlled Gaza/West Bank. But that's just an excuse (much like no Czechs in the Sudetenland).

Berating? I was merely using them as a tool of comparison in my quest to find why Iran gets such a bum deal from the Western community

this is the main problem on these fora imo.

it automatically becomes 'us and them' or taking a side of sorts. every point has to be argued depending on your 'side'

and the ignorance is astounding.

eg i dont much like floyd mayweather, but he is an awesome boxer imo. i think he would be too much for pacman if the fight happens

now on the forums i am a mayweather lover/pacman hater. truth is if it happens i hope pacman wins. he is my favourite in that division

i am a huge man utd fan, but wouldnt put rooney in my top ten of 'best' players, but he is one of my favourite players

i like to think i can be fairly honest/unbiased

Let's start from the beginning

The Balfour declaration gave a homeland in the modern day Israel/Jordan area to the Jews
After the end of WW1 it was decided that treaties between the Entente came first over promises to anyone else and so Syria/Lebanon came under French control while Palestine/Iraq came under British control and Saudi Arabia was under British protection
After WW2 Britain could no longer afford to pay for the Middle East and so Palestine was entrusted to the UN.

The UN decided to split Palestine into two states, one Jewish one Arab

The Jews said yes the Arabs said no.

Egypt, Jordan (the Eastern part of the proposed Jew/Arab split) and Syria then invaded and lost.

In 1956 Nasser nationalised the Suez (which was under British/French control)

This resulted in a British/French/Israel attack on Egypt

This saw Eisenhower repeat his mistake in 1945 of favouring a hostile Russia over a friendly Britain and France

Egypt and Jordan controlled Gaza/West Bank between 1948 and 1967 without trying to set up a Palestinian state

Bill Clinton blamed Arafat, and not Israel, for the failure of the Camp David negotiations

we are going over old ground tbh.

point is would you agree to give up part of your house if i said so?

i promise you i would accept something for nothing.

also bear in mind the jews were kicked out from elsewhere and were taken in.

israel without america is not capable of winning a war where it is, i would argue even today

clintons daughter had a jewish wedding, even british mps in 1948 said america was doing wrong by supporting israel purely for presidential votes
america is the only country that vetoes war crimes against israel, and 1 of only 2 countries out of 47 who did not accept/endorse the unhcr report after the flotill incident
america gives billions to israel every year. and the likes of egypt to 'protect' israel

no country has broken more un resolutions than israel, more than double of iraq. many more than iran

There are few ethnic groups that have taken over more land than the Arabs, so they have no right to complain if it happens to them

The Jews have been kicked out of numerous places throughout history.

Israel won at least one war without American support (the 1948 war)

The Jewish vote in 1940s USA was a very small percentage

You are confusing non-binding UN General Assembly resolutions voted on by the Communist/Arab/Muslim bloc against binding Security Council resolutions

It is no coincidence that the "disproportionate" bullshit is only applied to Israel and no other country

the topic at hand was about israel and iran. as such it is no suprise that we talk of israel. the disproportian comes from 1 yes 1 country the USA ignoring everything in favour of israel, and israel doing what it wants without recourse. a bit like paris hilton if you will, because daddy is rich

i guarantee if the US withdrew its support today, we would see peace in the middle east by the end of next week
