Fair point Chief, and one i thought i should check, their refund rules on their website state; If a refund is payable to you we will refund the money using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase. If a refund cannot be made to the original payment method then a cheque will be raised to the address on the order (except in the case of a full or part purchase of goods using a Gift Card, as detailed below).

Yeah I get what you mean. They will be fully waterproof mate as they'll have a layer that water can't get through, and a layer that can 'breathe'. But, the breathable part is only as good as the water repellent coating they have. So when they are new, water will form droplets on the surface and roll off, keeping your shoes dry. The coating eventually wears off though and your shoes will be 'wet' but only on the outside, the problem is that they then can't breathe and get wet on the inside from sweat. But, there is a solution. You can clean them and then add a new layer of water repellent coating (nik-wax, Fabsil or similar)
Yeah, don't clean with a detergent as this ruins the waterproofing. Use a product like Piskie says. Those boots have good soles too, vibram is hard wearing stuff.
Yep, as soon as they water doesn't form beads on the surface and they look wet. You'll need to clean them and apply a new layer of water repellent.
As Chief says, make sure you use a specific product and not detergent to clean them as it will ruin the water repellent coating.
Maybe I’m thinking of some other **** business but I stand by the second part of my post. I called them recently out of desperation as I needed to get a name printed on the back of a cricket shirt. ****s wouldn’t do it as I hadn’t bought the shirt there. Every customer service experience I’ve had at SD has been ****e. I don’t blame the staff, they tend to be moron teenagers who are being exploited by a fat ****.
After what period of time, are we talking a couple of months from new or just dependent how often they have got wet?

Depends how much you use them and in what conditions. Things like rock scrapes etc will wear off the coating quicker. If you're just using them for walking in wet grass and a bit of mud etc then the coating will last for months / maybe a year. If you use them constantly and they are getting caked in mud and getting scraped on rocks etc, then you'll probably have to recoat them after a few months.
