Any of you guys know anything about walking boots, because i know shhite about them? Maybe @PISKIE ? I need a decent pair but i don't want to pay stupid money, was looking at these, are they shhite or worth the money... https://www.sportsdirect.com/karrimor-tiger-walking-boots-mens-182290?colcode=18229003&fbclid=IwAR1xVO8xYYJ-db6Bjo5yK0dPsfYaDiRI7Ac8uficuYAcBTUwfU2xJnwzsA8
I prefer the trainer style but they’d be fine. Bought a load of inexpensive Karrimor stuff for a trek up Mount Toubkal which was ****ing Arctic at times and it was fine. No need to spend big.
Cheers mate, if i buy them from Karrimor they are £150 but half price at Sports Direct, i never feel comfortable in trainers, hence the boots, but appreciate the view
Karrimor is decent gear but no idea why anyone would go to Sports Direct? Go to a specialist, not a catch all, and try some stuff on. Cotswold Outdoor & Blacks are both decent chains. As is Go Outdoors, which you could say is the outdoor equivalent of Sports Direct (only far better). At least they will be able to offer products that they have some idea about. You 100% will not get that at Sports ****ing Direct. FWIW, Zamberlan and Salomon both make great, bomb proof, walking boots.
I'm too lazy Chief and just wanted to get it done online, can't be asked with going round retailers. Only reason for Sports Direct is because they were half price and i could get cash back which takes a few more quid off. But i get your point about trying stuff on. Oh well i'm £75 lighter now.
Why? I genuinely can't remember the last time i went into a retailer for boots or shoes. Never had a problem before buying online. If there is a problem you send them back, not that ive ever had to do that.
Footwear is important, and especially the likes of running and hiking etc. You need to try them on, as every maker differs slightly. Yes you can send them back, but what a **** on, get yaself out and try some for size and comfort/
Like i said, can't remember last time i bought in a retailer. If i don't like them i can send them back. Choices of deliveries are many...to your door...to the store...to another location of your choice, including drop of points. Piss easy, you need to get up with technology mate and not be scared of it.
Because a lot of retailers these days don't stock all sizes or makes anymore. They don't need to, because they know people order online. I ordered something from Argos the other day, same situation, don't keep them in stock anymore, you order online and then choose delivery type.
Why would i do that, i order everything online. When you joined the army and gave you a pair of boots, did they take you round 'go outdoors' first or did you just get handed standard kit. As a soldier you would have done shhite loads of hiking.
Yes, and the first thing i did was ditch their boots. I even buy my own steel toecap trainers for work. I won't wear the one's you are given.
Pretty sure that SD only give you a credit, they don't refund. That means you're stuck with having to buy something else from Sports Direct. They may well fit nicely though so wouldn't be a problem, you'll soon find out!
Yeah Karrimor stuff is good. Just make sure you get some Gore-Tex (or whatever their waterproof equivalent is) otherwise you'll be cursing your soggy socks and trench foot.
