Epic win. Could't find a pub to watch it so sat in a bar drinking Punk IPA and following the updates. Man that feels good.

A deserved win , but we could have been punished at the end for not being clinical.

We played some excellent pressing and passing football between the boxes tonight. Our final ball was often poor, with Williams, Djiksteel & Vetekole culpable for poor touches and heavy passes when we looked dangerous.

Our midfield was great, with Bielik & Cullen bossing things and Aribo the standout with a MOM performance.

A much needed 3 points against an ordinary Pompey side, who we are likely to meet again in the Playoffs.

It was lively outside the ground after.

On that form we will be finishing 4th. Hopefully Pompey will finish 5th.

We know we can beat them.
A 2 leg play-off semi-final against Portsmouth with the second leg at the Valley is our best chance for a trip to Wembley.

There was nothing to fear there.

It’s looking like a replay of the famous 1998 Play Off final.

No mate, no prominent holidays of late. Good win last night, we seem in the dead zone with not much chance at top two and looking locked up for top 6.

Joe Aribo did himself no harm on live TV last night. Fans of other clubs were very complimentary about him on social media after the game. He has certainly taken his game to a new level, and his skill & energy levels were outstanding. Another massive, massive own goal by the Belgian idiot looming this summer when this talented lads leaves us for next to nowt.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere at last night’s game.

The noise levels were excellent, with both sets of fans at it for the 90 mins. The Upper North looked busier than usual.

Fans on here who don’t go really are missing out on nights like this. Life’s too short.

I could have gone to the match yesterday - it would not have been impossible to rearrange my day to accomodate it.
But the inconvenience it would have caused me (plus the fact that the game was on TV) decided the matter and I gave it a miss.

Contrast that to six years ago.
I was doing some site work in Swansea, staying in a hotel overnight there for several days.
Charlton had a midweek evening home game and I was determined to be there.
So I knocked off work slightly early (about 3:30pm if I recall) and drove back from Swansea to London, battled the M25 and the rush hour, and got into the Valley just as the game kicked off.
I think we won it 1-0, and at 10pm I jumped back into the van and drove back to Swansea, grabbed about 3 hours sleep and was on site again the following morning. Totally knackered, but happy as Larry.

That passion for the team, that feeling of having to be there, to be part of it all, is what five years of Duchatelet has eroded so badly in me since 2014.
I very much hope that the passion will come flooding back when he is gone.
Like the Blackpool fans who flooded back, overjoyed, after their long boycott.

Indefensible. They offered him a new contract then withdrew the offer, and replaced it with one which meant a wage cut.. Roland's stinginess is backfiring badly.

Even more indefensible when you can see just how much Aribo is improving.

Always indicative when fans of other clubs are raving about a player.

You would imagine scouts are swarming all over him now.

It doesn't make it any better to know that the majority of Charlton fans have seen it coming ever since the outrageous decision to withdraw the contract offer. The pro-Roland faction are hopeless cases..

Can't help feeling that this cost cutting measure has backfired spectacularly … his current offer from the Club must be higher than last summer's surely? He is undoubtedly a better player with a longer list of Clubs after his services. Last summer it was probably Championship clubs after him, this summer it will be mid table Prem Clubs..... (Everton, Leicester, Palarse I guess)
