Why do supporters think VAR will help the smaller clubs? The bias decisions will still happen and expect the big boys to get even more decisions going their way. I can’t see the point of VAR but feel it’s inevitable

Bit of a shock...WBA sack Darren Moore when they sit 4th. The board says they told him they need a swift return to the EPL and they are going a bit adrift of automatic promotion....though still in a play off spot. Unless they have a footballing genius lined up, this decision is unfathomable.

I was surprised as they seem quite a stable club and he is a club legend though they have been in poor form. I was going to ask on here if people thought it was unfathomable expectations or a calculated gamble?!

They aren't even really in bad form, just not peak form. 16 points in 12 isn't great, but it shouldn't be a fireable offense, either.

I can only think that either something’s gone on behind the scenes, they didn’t want to give him the job in the first place but he had that great run at the end of last season, or Zinedane/Jose have said they’ll take on the challenge without a salary as long as WBA donate £500 to this year’s Comic Relief.

Probably unfathomable expectations. Plus their squad is ooooold, so they might feel like this is their only shot.

Kicking off in Brum. Fan has run on the pitch and taken a swing at Jack Grealish. What is wrong with people?

The book will be thrown at than "fan", and rightly so.

But I wouldn't be shocked if Birmingham came in for a huge punishment too. And I mean huge. Not just, say, a pointless £10,000 fine.

Simply having him entering the field of play would have resulted in some form of punishment for Birmingham, but for it to lead to the idiot punching Grealish to the floor, they are deep trouble.

The idiot meanwhile will hopefully never set foot inside a football stadium again.

Part of the punishment should have been that the match is abandoned and Aston Villa win 3-0. Kind of nuts that they just carry on as if it didn't happen.

I’d say it’s more nuts to just abandon a game over someone running on the pitch for 20 seconds. Hardly a mass shooting is it.

They applauded the punch, and the dragging off.

Wonder if they'll still be applauding when/if they're not allowed to attend a Brum home game because it'll be behind closed doors. Or when/if they see their side deducted points by the EFL.

As Lee Hendrie had just said, if Grealish had broken his jaw and been unable to continue, the referee would have had no choice but to abandon the match.

Absolutely shocking, no place for that.

Tough decisions now, as it’s harsh to punish a whole club for the actions of one twat, but really they need to throw the book at them IMO.

As they happily applauded his actions, a stadium ban seems appropriate.

How can you applaud assault? Football rivalry is one thing, but it's ultimately just football...humanity overrides sport. Pretty disgusting tbh.
