It stands to reason really. I also believe that a sharpshooter in the US army (IrishAmerican) used to travel to Derry when he was on leave and do a bit of sniping. People like that are lured by the thrill. Not everyone can take a gun and kill people, regardless of their political viewpoint.

Was I the one who did it. I can only reason that their motivations were no body = no evidence.

The fact that his body hasn't been given back to his family is a disgrace in my opinion.

All families should be able to bury their dead.

I agree totally, it takes a certain type of mindset, a lot of the best soldiers were psychopaths, one of the founding members of the SAS was an Irishman, mad as a hatter but a warrior nevertheless. A fascinating man by all accounts, have a look.

Then we agree on something, best leave it at that, there is no reason not to discuss these issues as long as we act like adults. <ok>

Totally agree. Everyone is entitled to be buried by their family and how they wish. By all accounts the guys who done it were small time and freaked out. No excuse though.

in 2009 there was a report which said 1 in 10 people in prison/on probation was ex military

there was also the reasons for joining. in america the benefits are too good to ignore if you havent achieved academically etc

not sure of here, but from my own school, the guys who went into the army etc were usually from the lower sets

Aye read a few books about Blair. Apparantlly during the war him and his team were in the proces of blowing up German planes on an airfield. They ran out of explosives so he ordered his men to carry on and pull the rest of the planes apart by hand. A complete maniac but someone you would be overjoyed to have beside you in a tight spot <ok>

Sorry did I cross the line? So it's OK to randomly blow up people out doing their shopping as long as the number of dead is around 20 or 30, not 5 million?

Bin Laden is a strange one. Was the story not that he died of lung disease or kidney failure and was buried (in accordance with muslim law) in an unmarked grave in Tora Bora.

Theres that many smokescreens though, who the **** really knows.

It is never ok to randomly blow up people no matter how low the casualty numbers are.

We could be here all week with this one. Do you think it's fine to drop bombs from a plane but not OK to drive the bomb there in the back of a lorry?
