Tottenham have won just three of their 23 Premier League away games against ‘big six’ sides under Mauricio Pochettino (D7, L13)
Mauricio Pochettino and his Tottenham players were serenaded with a painfully familiar refrain as the misery and chaos that had been released by Chelsea's victory was turned on them at deafening volume.

"Tottenham Hotspur - it's happened again" thundered from all four sides of Stamford Bridge after Kieran Trippier's late comedy own goal secured a 2-0 win for Chelsea, which lifted the thunder clouds over the club and manager Maurizio Sarri.

    And it had happened again.

The guys were right in that it literally means you found it difficult. However, good result for your boys and there's no denying that own goal was hilarious, a proper season highlight.

The trouble is Spurs as a club lack ambition which imv stems from the top down. There are no winners throughout that team, no driving force and when push comes to shove they always come up short towards the crux of the season.

TBF once they are out of the running for everything (near season end) they usually go on a good run and finish strong. It's the pressure of actual success they bottle.

"Banjo" is among the top 5 most clinical finishers in the league along with Aguero, Aubameyang,Salah and Hazard.
Clinical does not mean they fit the team well, just that they can score when given the chance.
Most teams depend on all players fitting into the style/flow of the play and having several players ready and able to score from that flow. Look at the other 4 players I have mentioned here, they do not cause their teams to change tactics if they are playing, they just improve the fluidity of that team when they play.

Spuds were playing better with Dong the dog eater up front.

Of course they were, every time Kane is out they play better and faster.
Like I hinted, great finishers are only any use if they fit the style of play but hinder the team if they have to adjust to set them up.

As a manager, how would you feel about your team having only three shots on target in two games and one of those was a penalty FFS <laugh>

I'm glad Piskie bought that up as it pains me every year around this time to inform some Spud fans that they are what they all know they are... Bottlers. This the most prescient of threads on Not 606 has only met scorn from the deluded. Will they never learn?

What happens if Liverpool don't win the league, will they be bigger bottlers?
