What do you have at the ready on long car journeys? This isn't necessarily a thread about what your favourite sweets are but rather the sort of bagged sweet that is easy to dip into and doesn't involve any fiddly unwrapping or the kind that melts into a messy blob on a hot day. I'm talking about your fruit pastilles, wine gums, midget gems and the like. There is usually something minty in my car, tic-tacs or mint imperials, which are handy for disguising the smell of spunk after a night out dogging, at least that's what I've heard Although the kids who get into the car expecting the promised sweeties are often a tad disappointed if Murray Mints are all they are going to get. Anyone have those tins of travel sweets? Barley sugar mostly iirc.
At least you ask nicely. What sweets would be in my hearse? Probably not Black Jacks HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! racist
Those sucky sweets that come in a little tin and are separated by a fine powder are a popular choice. What is the powder?
Probably. I don't understand how sugar powder stops sugary sweets from sticking together. We need someone like Brian Cox or Dev to explain.
I like to keep a tin of proper powdery Turkish Delight in the car in case I ever get stopped at a jihadi roadblock.
Don't think so. I sometimes visit a retro sweetie shop close to the 'fit o' the Walk' and treat myself to 200g. each of Pineapple Chunks and Kola Kubes. My old gnashers are in a terrible state!
Yeah, my railings are completely ****ed, shouldn’t even contemplate sweets tbh. Do they do Sherbert Lemons, with actual sherbet in the middle?
I would presume so as the wee shop has plenty of the big jars of sweeties. I have no doubt they would be proper Sherbert Lemons as the PC's (hard centre) and KK's (soft centre) are just as I remember from fifty plus years ago!
I had some of both of those a few weeks ago, nowhere near as good as they used to be, the taste has changed as it seems they use a new recipe which removes most of the sugar. Sweet peanuts had the same issue.
I never eat when driving. I drove a few times to Bristol last year and didn't stop once, not even for a piss. UTLR
