Because the backstop is an insurance policy to solve a very difficult issue. Why are the brexiteers so worried about it being a permanent arrangement if they have an easy solution or are not planning to shaft Northern Ireland or Ireland in the future?
No borders are ready to change on March 30,so for 12 months we should keep most custom rules in alignment with the EU,with the exception of freedom of movement for moving to live in other countries.
Because the EU drunks are looking to punish Britain not make any agreements. Why do you think allowing N Ireland to possibly do what they voted for is shafting them, ooops sorry forgot you don't do democracy.
From where I'm listening, it's the EU including ROI who are insisting on no UK opt-out. And there has never been an option on any side to make it permanent.
Well apart from that agreement that the 27 member states agreed and made 12 months ago before UK decide they needed changes
Like you say,the EU agreed on it with a vote,we didn't,and your friends are the ones who rejected it.
Do you think it'd be ok for the EU to decide which custom rules we can keep and which people we allow to travel out of UK?
If there's a no deal it's chaos for EU, ROI, UK & NI. All the more reason for the EU to stop trying to sneak aces up their sleeve.
Would be nothing to do with the EU,if we decide to keep rules as they are for 12 month as a transition period, there would be no need to alter any customs for that time.
A transition period would need a deal so would have something to do with the EU. (and in the space of 3 posts you've gone from No we leave in March to a 12 month transition....)
No I haven't,we leave now but don't change our custom rules for 12 months, nothing to do with the EU what rules we work to.If the EU wish to make problems from that, well that's up to them.
If the EU make problems for their farmers, exporters etc, would just show what dicks they are,as its to their benefit as much as ours.More so in fact,as we import more from them, than we export.Would lead to riots maybe a revolution in France,so on their heads be it.
By default with out an agreement we become a third nation so under international law they and we would have to treat each other differently.
We wouldn't be doing any such thing, are you saying the EU are a bunch of vindictive barstewards trying to do anything to fook Britain up.Good job we are getting out then ay the sooner the better.
No I'm saying by leaving without a deal the EU would follow international law and there would be tariffs on food imports not to mention delays.
