Interested to see which race connections opt for with Tully East. Has a festival win and place on his CV already. He also ran a very respectable race in the Bet Victor at Cheltenham in 2017. Clearly relishes the stiff finish, doesnt appear to be ground dependant and has a rating of 138 which he has won off here before. Entered in 3 handicap hurdle races and is generally 25/1 in all of them. He'll carry my cash wherever he turns up.
Watched it last night Oddy, it's was pure classic comedy with a bit of tipping going on in the middle...Watch it till he gives Codd and Barry a right ole pasting, Barry was not amused...!!!
Yep, it’s patchy rain, been lots in last week and ground (not on racecourse) is much softer for it. Rain showers for next few days so that will be key thing now. If they miss then we should get good-soft at worst, if they all hit then it’ll be closer to soft I’d suggest
Alex Hammond has put here tips up so you can see if she is putting the mockers on any of you ante post bets https://www.sportinglife.com/racing/news/alex-hammond-cheltenham-verdicts/159458
I watched the The Coral preview as well last night, found it informative and very good entertainment. BG never gave much away but the others offered up some food for thought. Chappers was killing BG though.
Oh bollocks. I've done plenty of homework this week on my fancies and they match up with about 5 of hers.
Down in Bristol today so don't know what it's doing at present but has been raining most days over last week with some quite heavy downpours. Showers are predicted over next few days and I saw a forecast for Tuesday saying squally showers. I echo what Nassauboard says it will be soft at worse for day 1. After today will be able to monitor weather more closely as only live about 8 miles from racecourse.
It looks like we will be getting daily updates on Santini from now until the RSA. I don't think Henderson is doing himself any favours here.
But with the situation (apparently) quite fluid, surely he should just tell it how it is - that they continue to monitor him and probably won't know until the morning of the race whether he will be fit to run. I can't believe this "will he / won't he" is influencing people at this stage - surely anyone now will be waiting for the day of the race to place a bet. There is next to no value left anywhere.
Just seen someone looking for a price on Cheltenham being cancelled Tuesday and Wednesday due to high winds. Don’t laugh!!
I see Ruby doesn't have a ride in the Arkle, Ultima Handicap chase and Close Brothers on the first day of the festival.. Townend is jocked up to ride one in the Arkle that is owned by the same owners as Laurina but I guess makes sense as Ruby has not ridden that horse before. So just 3 rides on the opening day for Ruby..
Got some word from Mullins yard that they expect a decent run Whiskey Sour in the County Hurdle.Put in a good piece of work on the gallops and if he can avoid traffic and gets a clean run he'll have a good chance. This race is normally a minefield to solve so I think he is a good ew bet at 14s.They think Bellshill has an Ew chance in Gold Cup but Mullins record in that race would but me off backing him.
