Maybe, but even if that is the case most of the huge mistakes var was apparently bought in for are fouls and handball which are subjective as well so you could argue that VAR isn't really going to solve anything while causing a lot of disruption.

The only other bit of tech I'd like to see used, was one that was being discussed the other day and that's for encroachment in the penalty area/determining whether a foul is committed inside or outside of the box.

So basically the same as goal line tech, but used on the 18 yard line.

What made last night’s ref decide to review the situation?

Was he alerted by one of his other match officials? Did a Utd player protest?

Would have been the VAR officials.

I agree, but if you don't bring it in then defenders will just make themselves big and turn their backs and plead innocence when it hits their arm/hand and leave the ref with or without VAR to make a decision based on his/her view of the rules, so we will have decisions like this constantly.

Any change will be the same for both teams so the attacking team will gain an avantage but both teams can attack. The problem at the moment is some teams get decisions and some don't for the same incident, so simplifying it and getting the same correct decision consistantly is surely better than what we have now?

Just leave the rule alone and let refs make the call, they will make mistakes and fans will rant and rage for a bit but that's part of my game.

I'm still for VAR

Swings n roundabouts...VAR can't educate humans it can only show you the incident again. The rest is up to the stupid humans.

The sooner VAR stops defenders raping or using other sly methods on attackers the better. Harry Kane is in for a field day.

Yeah that makes sense.

VAR would have ruled out Harold Klaim's pen against us last weekend for being offside though.

I'll veto VAR if you can sort out the rolling around like a player has been shot or faking hamstring injuries to waste time etc.

Sniper in row Z, get's the nod from the 4th official to shoot.

Not necessarily. There’s every chance that, after twiddling with his ear piece whilst surrounded by Arsenal players making TV gestures, he would have walked over to the side of the pitch to review the pictures, considered the issue from a hundred angles, guessed, got it wrong, pointed at the spot again, and left everyone wondering wtf was going on.

VAR summed up well.

First para, you seen the state of our officials? If we educated (trained) them better than we wouldn't need this nonsense.

Second para, hope you're looking forward to watching a [HASHTAG]#noncontactsport[/HASHTAG] soon bru.
