I was just referring to you seeing the others having a pop so you decided to have one too even though you have no clue as to what the outcome of the suggestion might have been .
No one actually knows what the outcome of the suggestion would have been, but what we do know is that the man you wanted to withdraw scored the only of the goal of the game and we won 0-1. Now that is fact and cannot be disputed
Tbf to dgc you could say the same about lloris. The man everyone wants dropped for gazza produced probably the motm performance and saved the Pen against arsenal. Does that mean no more calling for lloris head?
OK - point taken. I think it’s different when it’s the victim making the joke, but that might just be an unconsidered reaction. I’m just aware of how keen all the Germans I met were to find ways to atone for the doings of the Nazis. And how the students regarded the member off staff rumoured to have been a Party member. But I do realise it’s all marginal, and that there was no evil intention behind your comment. Back to the banter now! Cheers!
Yes, and to their own eternal pain. A German citizen born in 1945 (and probably several years prior to that too) is not responsible for the crimes of the Nazi regime. Having them perpetually apologise for that is no different to asking me to apologise for any nastiness that the UK committed before my birth / during my formative years.
My uncle Jack helped bomb the bloody place but got shot down coming back.He made 3 trips and is buried in Dunkirk. Maybe he bombed them again.....yesterday?
I'm just looking at things like 1,0,1,1, the goals scored in the last 4 matches since Kane's comeback, it's not very good and besides does anyone here think that Dortmund would have scored 4 goals in the second half without Kane's goal? Kane didn't save us did he? Nil bloody nil would have done it wouldn't it? So why the hell are you all going on about Kane being some sort of saviour last night and making me out to be some sort of pariah? Was it 3-3 and he scored the winner? NO, NO, NO, NO, NO.
I am not sure that there is that much similarity Bobby if I am honest. Hugo certainly has some credit in the tank for last night and for the save on Saturday and I don't think anyone is calling for Gazza right now. But lets not forget that its only week since we lost at your place and Hugo wasn't covering himself in so much glory. When people here were suggesting that Gazza could replace Hugo earlier in the season his form was quite poor, the incidents at home to Barca and away to PSV were particular low points in his season, and Paulo had played well when given his chance. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I don't expect everyone to agree with me, or that I will agree with everyone else, it would be a very dull forum without diverse opinions. However in this particular instance, we can deal in the facts, we can all think that sometimes we know best and that if the manager had done what we suggested the game may have been different. On this occasion we don't know what would have happened if Kane was withdrawn and Son had been moved into his position, we might have won by more that is true (but unlikely in my opinion) the facts are as I stated Harry scored and we won. And in answer to your question I don't think we will be calling for Lloris head in the short term, if he throws 3 in at the saints this weekend that may well change
I must say that Jan continues to amaze. He's one of those players that goes about his business with no fuss and 100% reliable. For such a big man,and he's not fast, he's always in the right place with the right tackle...and so calm. Remember Bobby Moore?
So the goal didn't alter the course of the game in the slightest? The fact that they then needed 5 to go through didn't have any effect on Dortmund its a complete coincidence that after we scored they barely created another chance? Who have we played in the the matches you refer to? Burnley and Chelsea away, Arsenal at home and then Dortmund away - thats 2 of our greatest rivals which are generally 2 of our toughest games of the season, the German league leaders (who were unbeaten at home before last night) and a Burnley side who when we played them were confident on the back of being unbeaten in 2019?
Pele once said that Bobby Moore was the best defender that he played against in his whole career, but then again he never had the opportunity to play against Super Jan.
No, I don't think the goal did alter the course of the match. Do you think that they'd have scored 4 goals in the second half given their present form in the Bundesliga TCM......................SERIOUSLY?
