I'll tell you what you'll get for Morelos, you'll get what someone is willing to pay. Whatever that amount is I have no idea and nor do I care in all honesty. Valuing players is a mug's game imho.

In 24 appearances in the champions league Dembele scored 8 goals. Considering that was three seasons worth of qualifying games playing against Europe's whipping boys then that hardly prolific. He has made 5 European appearances for Lyon and scored 1 goal.

Ouch.

Morelos made 6 appearances in the Europa league for HJK and scored 4 goals and 4 in 15 for a Rangers.

So that's 8 in 21 European games.

Dembele was already known in England. He scored in the Champions league. He was spoken about by people like Zidane. More importantly, he's a better footballer. The fact the he's from France, a league close by with money, helped too.

Morelos, while I do rate him, doesn't have the same natural ability. He has gone missing in Rangers biggest leagues and unfortunately, clubs in Colombia won't be bidding for him which would add money.

The only bids that have actually come in for Morelos are around £8/9m with the last one being in January. He won't double his price in that time. Personally I think he'll go for £12/13m (plus sell on %)this summer. And I think who buys him will be getting a good deal.

 

Dembele made his name at Fulham, his time at Celtic added nothing to his valuation, he was always going to be worth millions.

Celtic were just lucky to get him when they did.

Dembele was known all over the country due to his time at Fulham, linked with the top 4 in England and big clubs abroad. He was always a massive talent and was going to be worth millions. It was a good bit of business by Celtic to get him but Celtic didn't improve him as a player or add to his value in the market, if anything his value decreased by coming to Scotland.

No matter who sold Dembele, whether it was Fulham, Celtic or any team he was going to fetch a lot of money. Thats why I'm saying they got lucky to get him when they did, but fair play to them for it.
