HULL CITY AND SPORTPESA ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE AN EXTENSION TO AN ALREADY HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIP.

It means that the growing global technology and entertainment company will remain as the Tigers’ main shirt sponsors for the 2019/20 season.

Hull City and SportPesa have enjoyed a tremendous relationship since coming together in 2016 in a collaboration that has always been about more than a shirt sponsorship. The partnership forms part of SportPesa’s global mission to support and develop professional and grassroots sports globally and has led to a number of successful projects between the two parties.

The now annual ‘Kits For Africa’ campaign has seen tens of thousands of items of football kit and equipment donated by Hull City fans for distribution amongst less privileged teams and players in Africa. In 2017, an innovative SportPesa All-Stars fixture saw the top talent from the SportPesa Kenyan Premier League travel to the UK to take on the Tigers at the KCOM Stadium, with the fixture broadcasted live to millions of people across Africa. Another highlight came last summer when Nigel Adkins took his first team squad to Nairobi where they faced Kenyan Champions Gor Mahia in front of a crowd of more than 60,000 fans at the Kasarani Stadium, with the trip also seeing the players and coaching staff visit a number of community projects and provide coaching workshops for local teams.

Speaking about the extension of the partnership with SportPesa, Hull City’s Head of Commercial, Joe Clutterbrook, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to continue working with SportPesa. The partnership has delivered some really exciting and worthwhile projects over the last three seasons and we are looking forward to continuing that into 2020. The Club would like to thank the team at SportPesa for their ongoing support and we see the renewal of our partnership as evidence of the fantastic working relationship we have.

“Having recently announced a move into the world of Formula One, it’s an exciting time for the SportPesa brand as they continue to expand across new markets and it’s a journey we are proud to be part of.”

Adam Beighton, Company Director of SportPesa, added: “This partnership was a monumental move for SportPesa when it was signed back in 2016, as it underlined the global ambitions of the company. We’re incredibly proud of the work we have carried out with Hull City and the Club has played a very important part in our company’s growth over recent years. On the same note, we feel this partnership has been hugely valuable to Hull City in terms of growing the Club’s international fanbase and offering exposure throughout Africa and beyond.

“The Club’s commitment to this partnership made it an easy conversation when it came to the renewal, and we’re incredibly excited to be planning further innovative projects to grow SportPesa and Hull City, as well as support and inspire more communities with the work we are doing together.”

It has to be said that the relationship with Sportpesa has been quite good, but I guess that this would be the case as I am sure it is close to Ehab's heart coming from Africa himself...

Does it say how much the deal is worth?

Less than previous years, hence no terms shared within the article, and only a one year further commitment. The original sponsorship revolved around City being in The Premiership, so by the very nature we are now in The Championship, it must represent a lower value to SportPesa.

As an aside if it was based on home attendances only, we would now be paying SportPesa!

Great that the club have secured SportPesa for another year, and at face value it seems to have benefited both parties well, but I can't help but feel that this sponsorship deal could have achieved much more

Those words could apply to an awful lot of the Allam reign unfortunately.

Now now... that’s a little harsh.

It’s obviously and easily worth £1.53

He's taking the piss, when we signed the original deal with Sportpesa, Ehab said he was very pleased with us having an African sponsor, what with him also being African (from the Kirk Ella tribe).

That's why they are f**king you over with a new logo that wasn't needed to change in the first instance. Mind you they are not annoying as many people as 3 years ago go on that c60% aren't arsed anymore!
