Yeah he has done ok as a manager. Clearly when he was playing his body couldn't do what his mind wanted him too. Indeed he often seemed to find the most illogical choice available to him. Fereday at least had some success as a footballer for QPR. We got the discarded **** version of course. Stimson made Fumaca look like a brazilian. Literally the worst player I've ever seen live in black and white, I thought my eyes were gonna bleed with the pain.

Gazza's the best player I've seen live for NUFC. Shearer was an all time great world class centre forward. Ginola was a genius as was Beardsley.

Gazza though was a one off. He'd literally grab a game by the scruff of the neck and run the game how he wanted. He just had a special gift. Unfortunately life got a bit ropey for him...

Gazza was definitely the most naturally talented player I've ever seen for us.....people say Tony Green was even better, but I never saw him so I can't comment.

So yeah Gazza first, then Ginola (difference being that Ginola had a hard working team around him, so he didn't need to graft like Gazza), Laurent Robert was exceptionally talented but lazy (poor man's Ginola), Keiron Dyer showed amazing some amazing skills and COULD have been an incredible player but he'll never be remembered fondly cos he was always injured.....who knows maybe Miggy may be the next Gazza.

Guess we just like a player with a bit of magic, hence Gazza, Beardsley and Waddle were more crowd favourites than the likes of Shearer, Lee and Speed.

Most of the ones I'd say have already been waxed lyrical over so I'll pick 3 "others" really. They weren't my favourites overall but at the time I loved them as players for us:

1 - Dyer. I've never been a season ticket holder so mostly only got to cup games every now and then. Went to see Newcastle-Tottenham in the FA Cup and we won 6-1 with Dyer just humiliating whoever he wanted that day. He was probably 19/20 at the time and it was hard not to love him. One goal he dribbled past 2 or 3 players and then slotted it home. He also scored an outstanding goal against Everton which just gets forgotten (gets ball near half way line. First touch lobs one player, second touch lobs another, third touch lobs the keeper) but the one that sums him up as his enigmatic best was the opener against Olympiakos. I was watching with my Greek housemate at the time (an Olympiakos fan) and when Dyer back heeled the ball nonchalantly he just clapped).

2 - Bellamy. Yes the guy is a prick. He gave us a fantastic couple of seasons and the winner against Feyenoord 2-3 away to put us through to the next round is the most I've ever cheered a goal for us. I was in a pub in Leicester watching by myself (reasons I wont go into) and by the time the final whistle went there were about 20 neutrals who were cheering with me. Was a great game and I got bought like 5 pints.

    3 - Woodgate. Obviously.

Yep - think Bellamy was underated mainly because he was a bit of a twat at the best of times but he waa very quick and very skilful. When him and Shearer were playing together and talking to each other they were a great combination.
