I always liked Can. Thought people were unfair on him.

If I recall correctly, he got 5 goals and 6 assists last season. Which I believe is more than our midfield combined this season?

He’s not a big loss but still would have been useful for us.

He's a decent player, probably more suited to the slower Italian league.
However its the way he left that sours people, basically he kept us hanging on, with no real intention to sign a new contract, until Juventus finally got around to being interested so that they didn't have to pay for him.

who gives a **** about can or the uncompetitive Italian leagie?

if we seemingly don't gove a.**** about coutinho who actaully had.masses of goals.and assists to january then can's no entity of a season isn't worth talking about.

maybe we should.focus on oxlade playing u23s this week eh?

Can disappointed himself by running down his contract. Klopp wanted him to stay.

Anyone seen these new rules they’re passing?

if a goal is scored or asissted via someone’s hand whether deliberate or not will be w foul - makes sense I gues.

If a penalty is missed or saved, play will be stopped (doesn’t say if it’s a drop ball or free kick or just given to keeper) so can’t score from a rebound. What a pathetic rule that is?! I don’t understand why you would stop the play, seems a crazy one to me.

Subs can leave from any touch line - makes sense to me, stops them running far away as possible when about to be subbed.

No attacking players in the wall... meh not sure on that. It’s attackers advantage, should be allowed to do what ever they want as long as they aren’t against the rule. Problem is regarding not blowing for free kicks when players learn or barge the wall out the way.

One and three make sense, two and four are typical FA decisions

Football is getting crazier and crazier expect more rules if that does not work.

    look....

    a) how many times have you seen a handball in an attacking sense be called accidental and allowed. i can recall one lfc goal being marked off for it. non entity of a change.

    b) rebounds not counting is plain stupid.

    c) designed to speed game. must be enforce as get the **** off closest line instantly. idea is to get rid of the 30 seconds to 1 minute walk with applause, tiny jog when ref whistles then walk again bull ****.

    d) again what's the consistent thing being done with line spraying and ****.... it's to eliminate messing and confusion.

people getting into the wall and pushing and shoving then arguments all just cause issues and delay the game.... if there's a wall and someone is pushing and shoving their way in then it's obviously an issue.

they should just say any contact with wall and defenders is a free kick to defensive team would surely be better than just outright ban.

That’s fair enough mate - the main point is that last season, we had midfielders who were contributing towards goals and assists.

And I think this season, there is huge reliance on the front 3 to create their own chances as well as put them away.

    yes they would.

stand to side of wall and block keepers view is a legitimate tactic imo. but this rule.is based on what takes ages to sort and setting up free.kicks takes ages

The gap between lines is too.much. before Christmas it wasn't that big but right now it's massive.

The penalty one is ****ing ridiculous, as well as completely unnecessary. Someone on our board had it right by saying it sounds like a rule 6 year old kids would play down the park ffs.

again the reason for it is refs have whined they cannot manage the encroachment around the pen area so rather than let var sort the few times it matters they come up with this.

every rule is made to make refs lives easier not a better game.

Why not stop rebounds from direct free kicks as well? Would save the hassle of having to worry about offside.
