First time i have done one of these so expecting a thrilling 0-0.
Would be nice to go into work after the weekend and change the below convo.
Did you go to the game? Yes
Did you win? No
Will you stay up? Of course, Ings is on fire... oh, But its ok! Obafemi has signed a new contract and is getting game time... oh. Well we have.... Long?

Premier League
  • Southampton vs Tottenham Hotspur
  • 3:00pm Saturday 9th March
  • St. Mary's Stadium

A weird couple of weeks for these two clubs. Tottenham secured 4 wins in a row without leader Kane only to struggle on his return

Saints on the other hand are trying to replicate Spain's no striker approach. A risky tactic but sure to confuse any defence into submission.
Odd approach seeing as most commentators seem to repeat the below statements.
Shane Long "Defenders hate playing against him"
Charlie Austin "Give him the ball and he will score"
Gallagher....

Moving onto the form of both teams.

Spurs last results

Spurs 3-0 Klopps former love
Jack Cork and co 2-1 Spurs
Kepa leaves the pitch for no man 2-0 Spurs
Spurs 1-1 How did Aubemayang miss that pen!

Saints last results

Saints 1-2 RIP
0 shots in second half 2-0 Saints
Saints 2-0 Tinkerman cannot tinker this team
How to get away with 2 penalty calls and an offside goal 3- 2 Saints

"Thousands and thousands of hours of football, each more climactic than the last! Constant, dizzying, twenty-four hour, yearlong, endless football! Every kick of it massively mattering to someone,"

Time for the team news.

Stars of the season
Redmond: Finally looking like he enjoys his football again. The backchat has decreased (it will never stop) and he is taking on and getting past players every game.
Hoijbjerg: Oddly shared a taxi back to the airport with his agent after our Milan away fixture. A time when he couldn't get anywhere near the team and was at risk of being shipped out (Thanks f**k that didn't happen)
JWP: Where do we play him? For a long time i wanted him is RWB as he was not fast enough to be a full winger, Never really looked for the killer pass in CM and always ran out of gas after 65 mins. How things have changed under Ralph. Attacking every cross that gets lobbed into the box and getting the poachers goal. Highlight was watching him hit a ball past J Bryan, run after it, and bl**dy win it. Usually he will make a run turn around and pass it back. Freekick goal speaks for itself

(I think i have become distracted)

Injury list. Will update as we get closer to the match
Saints
Ings, Obafemi and Lemina most likely still out but knowing our luck Redmond and Hoijberg will join them.

Preferred Team
Gunn
Beddy, Yoshi, Vesty
Valery JWP, Romeu, Hoijbjerg Bertrand
Redmond, (Austin but at this rate it could be anyone)

Not sure this counts as a match thread, but it gave me a break from work.

Sorry, too late. Saintmagic has just committed to the next one (see the Man U thread) and he was up to do the Fulham one before Saintritchie snuck in. So I’ll have to delete this one I’m afraid.

Anyway as Arsenal missed a late penalty we no longer will be giving Spuds their first draw of the season.

We'll have to win instead.

They're the team we've beaten least since being back too <grr>

Does anyone park Radcliffe Road area? How much is it?

A clean Sweep for Sooty!

I expect to hear the Northam singing "We love you, Sooty, we do" etc

I used to have a girl friend who lived in WHL when Spurs won the double. I went along a few times to support the Spurs. I suspect she may not look as good today as she did then (wheras I get better looking with each passing year, of course). So I was a closet Spurs fan. There. I've come out.

Then a couple of years ago I met a "Spurs fan" who confessed he'd never been to WHL or, indeed, ever seen them live. I'm going to be with him on Saturday so Saints, for goodness sake, screw them. Or can you inagine the journey home!
