I never knew you could be offside if the ball is passed backwards?

 

It’s hard to hear the Stretford End from where your fans were sat, I know this because we can barely hear away fans from where I stand.

That’s why the ‘singing section’ is at the other end of the ground.

 

Think it's if you're behind the ball rather than the ball being passed backwards.

 

How would that work then?

 

If two attackers are beyond the last defenders in posession then all the one without the ball has to do is stay behind the ball and he will remain onside regardless of whether the pass played to him is forward or backwards.

I think.

 

So far so good, think Everton need to try and wind them up a bit more though.
