War Sound was popular in the early betting for Newbury's 2.40 race. I was a bit puzzled to see that and he seems weak in the betting today. I picked Dolos out from the initial ante-post list as the young contender for a yard in form. I got the impression a couple of runs back that he weakened badly late in the race and he seemed suited dropping back in trip after that when winning nicely last time. I feel he may be OK going back up a bit in trip on the better ground today and I think he's still feasibly handicapped. I had to leave the 10/1 available because early indications were that he might not keep his engagement but I have taken 8/1 and if he comes home strongly it could well be at the head of the field. Dolos 8/1 Good luck to all having a go today.

Lucy Wadham has another winner at Donny to make it 5/6. The only one of those 6 I backed was of course Shanroe Santos whose jumping was fookin abysmal when it mattered. Lovely to see ol Houblon Des Obeaux still enjoying the NH game. A marvellous staying chaser.

newbury,2 40: GREATWOOD GOLD CUP WARRIORS TALE is very much a horse,that comes alive in the spring,so i am not too concerned on his last flop.also would be happier over a bit longer,but if he gets a good tow into the race,can run well.so,hes another,i like a lot..
