Different testing scheduels & sand bagging. Practice is only a rough idea. we will know better tomorrow afternoon
If vettel is still 1 second faster than webber, webber should be replaced. The gap between Alonso and Massa is far smaller, yet people haave been calling for Massa's head all season long.
So how about Hungary where a 1.4s gap last year became 0.1s this year? Vettel needs a pay cut... They're just different cars, the RB6 and RB7. Well done again to Newey tho, wish McLaren would poach him back!
They are basically the same car. I read that the RB7 is a subtle development of the RB6, which itself was a development of the RB5, altered for the new regulations in force this season, unlike the McLaren, which is a brand new car.
It is only practice you can't really read anything into it. Last year Vettel was second in P1, first in P2 and second in P3 but then sixth in quali.
When it comes to q3 I believe the Mclarens are much quicker on a 1 lap run. Vettel seems to get up to speed on his 2nd or 3rd lap. I still believe tommorow a Mclaren or Ferrari will be on pole.
I thought the RB would be slow at Spa, how wrong was I, seems they have their geraboxes correct this time. I think it's a McLaren 1-2, they havn't looked particularly quick in any of the pre-race sessions this year but generally have the fastest on race day, now they are quickest during practice
Yes, Red Bull, McLaren and Mercedes all look strong. I am disappointed with Ferrari but 3-4 tenths isnt too bad. To prevent suffering with tyre problems in qualifying they need to do a 2 or 3 lap run in Q3. I think McLaren are fastest here but hopefully Alonso will do something to impress the crowd. He usually does well at Monza.
4th and 5th in P2 and 7th and 8th in P1 isn't too bad for Ferrari, I'm certainly not writing them off. I do believe they are a bit off the pace but they can easily get on the podium with just a smidge of luck In other news Williams were fined 500 Euro's for using some tyres they weren't supposed to use, and Senna has been fined 8800 Euros for twice breaking the pit lane speed limit.
It's not 1 second it's 0.4 of a second and you think Webber should replaced on the basis of results in one FP2 session?
I like how everyone always says it is only practice and you can't really read anything into it, and then start to try read into it.
Still its a little mixed. They may be more bunched up but Q1 will really show who has/hasnt the pace.
I only take a Free Practice session seriously if Jupiter is rising past Uranus and a Virgins tear has fallen on the leaf of the sacred tree of pancakes and only if both of those things happen on a Wednesday.....when it's rainy.
lol, silly Sarah Holt, dunno what race she was watching but I was watching the Belgian GP, can imagine her sitting in the grandstands of Interlagos, all by herself
