Aaah, but do you remember the team from 1864? absolutely perfect! apart from that ginger guy, he was toss, nearly cost us the league against shrewsbury with that shocker
Ian Selley! He signed for my second beloved team (Dorchester Town) and was even more gash if you can credit it. I was that excited when he signed (having an ex Arsenal medal winner playing for lowly Dorch) that I'd forgotton how poo he was. Age certainly hadn't improved his tekkers.
I had to google his name to find out who he was. At least I have heard of all the others In my discovery days of AFC, one name was usually mentioned in somewhat unimpressive light - John Devine, a RB between 76 - 83. Played 111 games. Nothing more of note and certainly no goals to his name.
I always thought Christopher Wreh was big sack of ****e and one of the worst forwards we'd ever had... but he did score a couple of vital goals in 97-98 season, so maybe i'm being harsh
Is your memory playing tricks with you? Have you forgotten we won the league and cup double in 1971 and reached 3 further FA cup finals in the 70's, also finishing 2nd in the league in 1972/73 (as high as we've finished at the Emirates). The 70's saw some of the best players Arsenal have ever had viz; Brady, George, Radford, Stapleton, Ball and McDonald. The Emirates years so far have provided some of the msot average players we have seen. Fair point this But having met Terry Neil some years ago I must say that although the Brady Team of the late seventies was a joy to watch and I followed them Home and Away Ultimately even Terry Neil will tell you that the 1 FA Cup they won was a very poor return for such a great side full of truly great players
