Yep, jinx lifted, think it might be the new socks. I was still nervous with a two goal lead and 5 minutes to go.
With it all being a "misunderstanding" isn't it a bit harsh to drop Kepa? Or are Chelsea and Sarri talking bobbins?
Despite the alleged **** ups we continue to get better season on season. It was difficult enough to break into the top four. Harder still to make that final step.
Pooch reckons it would take a decade, Lineker reckons 15 years for you to win the league. How long do you think it would take ?
I think we’ve actually gone back a bit, especially in terms of quality. The main problems are defense and midfield. Trippier and Davies are no better than bang average and Rose is only up to putting in the occasional good performance. In midfield we’ve no replacement for Dembele. Wanayama looks permanently crocked, so we keep playing Sissoko and Winks in game after game - with the odd appearance of yet another academy player, such as Skipp. Some serious investment will be needed in those areas if we’re not to regress further.
Agreed. I think your chance has gone. The defence is nowhere near as good as it was with Rose at his best and Walker. Aldeweireld looks old and Sanchez isn’t at the level he and Vertonghen were. Winks is a tidy enough player but not of the level Dembele was when he was good. Dier is incredibly meh. Sissoko is ok but never great. Eriksen is a tremendous player but how long will he be there? Alli I like and obviously Son and Kane are superb. Desperately missing some lanky ball-carrying midfielder.
As tottenhams most knowledgable fan has told me, is it time to sell kane because he seems to be a detriment to the team. Evidence last season and this season the spuds are playing out of their skin until kane returns. Maybe the spuds can do what the pool did, sell kane for 100m+ and rebuild their defence and midfield. @remembercolinlee thoughts?
