To be honest I thought that would be a tougher game than it turned out to be. We played like we did pre Xmas when we just went at teams. Hopefully the blip we had was us just resting a bit and we can now press on for the remainder of the season.

No bad performances today but Fabinho, TAA and Mane stood out, as did Van Dijk but that's the norm. 10 games left, approach every game with the same intensity we will give ourselves a chance, just need to go for it

I wouldn't say it was a bad performance but Wijnaldum wasn't great

    Get in! Relatively easy.

Shows the importance Trent has to our attacking game. We don’t create through the middle or through our midfielders so we are heavily reliant on our full backs. Such a fantastic talent going forward and also defensively. And Salah plays much better with Trent behind him.

And shout out to Fabinho - a proper DM, one that we’ve been missing since Mash.

And fair play to Origi - he played well.

He was solid. Lot of running which is what we expect from him. Nothing more, nothing less.

Are you referring to his kicking being better?

Regarding his keeping, he’s brilliant. Huge signing for us.

How good is TAA. Seriously this kid is gonna be a superstar either tab RB or some kind of outside right midfield role.

Him and KDB have some kind of crossing ability that is unrivalled in the league. Outstanding.

Just back from the game, interesting to catch up reading comments on some of the players' performances...

I know it's an old record now, but VVD was outstanding, even when not near the ball; just his awareness, covering runners, organising and calmness.
Most around me, and myself included, thought Origi was gash. Constantly making poor decisions on the ball and generally screwing things up. His goal came from nowhere. But I'm glad we could afford to play him as a passenger and still win, saves us rushing Bobby back.
I actually thought our three midfielders were great: Fabinho let nothing past him, Milner covered everyone when they bombed up the pitch and put some solid tackles in and Gini basically never loses possession even when being seriously pressed - very important ability.

One happy fan tonight and good prep for the derby!

MOTD throwing out the ‘no team with this many points haven’t won the title’... no mention that all those teams were about 10 points clear at the time <doh>

IMO, he’s integral to this team. He’s actually really good defensively but his ability going forward is scary.

Said earlier that him and Robbo are just as important as the front 3 attacking wise as they are the ones that give us real width and overload their full backs.

Really do need cover for them both as we don’t have anyone in the squad that can cover to a decent enough level.

Jurgen Klopp praised Sadio Mane for his match-winning display as a surprise centre forward and admitted: “We could never have expected those goals!”

The Reds boss stunned Watford with a tactical masterplan that placed Mane centrally as a deep lying forward, and he responded with two stunning finishes...one a goal of the season contender as Liverpool cantered to a 5-0 victory.

Klopp insisted he expected the Senegal star to show intelligence and mobility in the position – but not the craft of a natural centre forward!

“I didn’t see the back-heel properly, I am told it is special, but I loved the first one - jumping so high, in position, and it was clear he would help us in the build up but we needed him in the box as well and to he was there in good positions for us.
