Fair point and I get that. But if with Ings / Obafemi injured and Austin / Long failing to score the answer is to look deeper into the squad (Gallagher, N'Lundulu, Barnes, Afolabi) rather than bemoan the departures who also misfired. They are untested at this level and may not be the answer but they can't do any worse can they. Austin or Long have to start but worth trying one of the youngsters alongside them to make use of the space they create.

Yes they can

Gabbiadini kept us up last season. Now we have............
I'll always respect him for that. Long got us to a Cup Final too. It means sweet FA to the current predicament.

No, I understand where you are coming from and my idea of playing kids is probably not really the answer either but I would definately have one of them on the bench tomorrow and, if needs must, give them a decent amount of time to make an impact.

I would question how he was deemed fit and back in selection - I think something similar happened to Lemina and they were reintroduced too quickly and as a result had recurring injuries.

Eh? By playing absolutely dog-****e all season?

One lucky toe-poke doesn't equate to 'keeping us up'. Who earned the other thirty-something points throughout the season? Did Gabbi earn them all?
TBH, every season there is one event that gets you to a cup final, wins a cup final or keeps you up. That is the memory ten years later. Just as we think Crouch got us relegated all on his own because he didn't keep the ball when in fact there were games left to play and win.

I agree, and actually, as it turned out we could have drawn the Swansea game and still been safe, although we didn’t know it at the time.

Technically, yes. But after Swansea lost it meant we needed to lose the final game, them win and there be a 10 goal swing or something ridiculous for them to stay up. They were playing already relegated Stoke and I think they had given up hope after the loss to us. If we had only drawn with Swansea then things could've been very different.

All ifs, buts and maybes now though

Well, not me personally. I look at the bigger picture.

Le Tiss kept us up in the 90's, because he scored 20+ goals a season and all the rest. But for Gabbi to play badly all year and have a lazy attitude, to then go and take the credit for keeping us up, is all kinds of wrong in my opinion.

Yeah I agree with you really. My point was purely that he can actually score(he already has a few since going back to italy)

Undoubtedly talented, but there must have been a reason that no managers played him, and why Ralph got rid asap. He's definitely more suited to Italian football.

It's lucky we look so solid at the back as we will need to pick up a few back to the walls 1-0 victory's.
