A lot of us in our younger days, worked 60 hrs a week and then played 90 minutes football at the WE just for fun.We might have been ****,but never left the pitch anything less than shattered. Some of them tonight could probably run a marathon after resting for 90 minutes during the game.
After about 5 mins you could tell it wasn't going to be an easy game and so it proved. What I don't understand is you watch us play live every other week...when we win it's hard fought and usually by the odd goal, so what exactly were you expecting to see tonight ? You've seen our limitations first hand and therefore you should realise that nights like tonight were always likely to happen.
We've lost games where we were unlucky,we missed chances, players sent off etc, tonight was pure lack of effort against a poor team, there for the taking,probably20/22 of the leagues teams would have beaten QPR tonight. At least half our team never broke into a sweat tonight. Who went off the pitch with a leeds top on shattered from giving his all.
I wonder did spygate upset our apple cart. Since playing terrific that night against derby, performances have been well below what we’d come to expect earlier in the season. Maybe just a coincidence
After a tricky opening few minutes we started to control the game until Cooper went off for running repairs. Unfortunately this allowed QPR to assume the ascendancy for the last 10 mins of the first half. It really did change the dynamic and we needed to reassert our style and possession at the start of the second half but unfortunately we conceded a really poor goal 3 mins after the restart. We are never the same side once behind...what seems like controlled possession when you're ahead becomes laborious side to side passing movements once chasing the game. It's just what and who we are, maybe it seemed like there was a lack of effort but to me it's more a consequence of a style and pattern of play which has been drilled into the players from pre season.
The biggest concern for me about this result is that we are now no longer in control of our ability to get an auto slot. It's the first time for quite a while this season that we are going to have to rely on others, The Blunts and Budgies, to slip up. I'm sure at some point one or both of them will but we cannot fall further behind them.
How so ? We are 1 point behind Sheff Utd and play them in a couple of weeks... assuming we match their results between now and then we surely go above them if we win. Is that not destiny in our own hands ?
During the 5 mins of injury time,we were fit as fiddles, more energy, aggression and making the effort we should have been doing 40 mins before.Looking at the game,I would only swap Freedman with Tyler Roberts,so we had 10 of the best 11 players on the pitch imo but they probably had 10 of the 11 players putting most effort in.Lazy lack of effort and desire from the whole team is not acceptable.Anyone can have a bad day,11all at once no
True it is but I'm not holding my breath. It's OK for you lot you can have a drink and go to sleep I've got the whole day to be miserable in.!!!!
Might be longer than you think... Did you notice Inspector Ristac on the prowl earlier ? Seems I'm his prime suspect (suppose I should be flattered really) but you're definitely still on his watch list, so if we never hear from you again how will we know it's you when you're being someone else ???
A little bit of credit to QPR won't go amiss instead of making excuses that the team never tried......The team tried alright But QPR had the measure of leeds in the game.
Must be tough, what with the mask slipping every now and again... Maybe we should lodge a complaint with the supermods about victimization as no one else seems to be under this much surveillance.
