Played more games for Hull City then you ever did. And scored the winner at West Ham for Hull City. How many local lads can say that ?
Did the same for Macclesfield when playing us against at BP. The little twat scored two that day and celebrated as though he'd won the World Cup by himself.
I would have been the same at the time, being a kid. Now I would think, poor lad was just trying his best and punching above his weight. I remember one time I tried to throw the ball back to him from Kempton and i didnt reach him and he swore at me so that might have influenced what I thought about him!
How can anyone forget the classic match of the day quote (a cup match?) "the barrel chested defender " ...
I took it to mean least memorable as players, but I suppose the irony is you remember them for being that. Trying to remember somebody I forgot now! Patrick Dickinson.. there you go. Did he even play for us
I think we signed him from North Ferriby and he broke his leg in his first match. Played a few matches in his second season.
Steve Massey. Started off well and then turned into utter garbage. The only thing I remember is him ducking out of the way of the ball because he thought he was going to get hurt. Sam Collins, Danny Something (gave 3 goals away in one match), centre back. Brown played him instead of Turner in the 1st game of the season when we went up into the premier league, Mike Ring, Billy Woof, Neil Thompson (hardly got in for us but then had a decent career), Steve Richards, Neil Williams (fringe player in the 80's).
