So my old man has gone into a care home today. It all kicked off when I was in Fuerteventura (bad timing) so I couldn't do anything about it last week. But as sad as it is for my parents, this is 100% the best outcome for everybody involved. The care home is pretty grand too, an old convent in 8 acres of grounds. He seems happy enough, it's early days but hopefully this will work out for everybody.
My gran loved her care home, if you get a good one it’s probably the best place for them. Try get some pics of the family up in there asap for him. Maybe you could get a picture of your favourite log framed for his new gaff too?
Thanks mate, I'm just sifting through some of my extensive rock collection pics to choose a couple to frame for him. And yeah this is 100% the right place for him. All the stress and strife of trying to care for him at home can now be done by professionals. My old dear was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, so she can begin to rebuild her life too. Fingers crossed this care home works out, because it seems like a really good one.
