Valid point Tash and well made. But no matter how good your defence is the opposition will get some chances. We've only conceeded one goal in three games against teams we would consider to have decent attacks. I'd have snatched your hand off if you offered me that defensive record three games in.

Like others have said Pardew, copious notetaker that he is will have noted it and I am sure we will have worked on it the last few weeks.

Agree about Simmo though he is definitely our weak link at the back.

Depends which Arsenal. The one we played on the opening day will be a far cry from the one we meet later in the season.

Newflash: We're dodgey at the back!

    This is brand new information.

To be fair I think we've all enjoyed our results, Tash included. But there is nothing wrong with striving to improve. "Continuous improvement" to coin a popular business phrase!

It's a valid point but if we're going to pick on an aspect of our team, I think "poor defence" (specifically centre backs) is low on the list on problems.

  8. I don't think our defense is poor, it's solid. But there were a few mistakes that could have cost us against Fulham. Just mentioning them.

As I say we got lucky when we met Arsenal in my opinion. Mondays game will tell us more about where we are and what we can expect. Arsenal were in a mess, Sunderland couldn't hit cows arses with a banjo, and Fulham looked weary from Europe to me. They did exactly what most do when in europe, start well and fade. Just think we have to be realistic.
