Sounds like David Ibbotson shouldn't have been flying that plane that killed him and Sala at all. Wasn't qualified to fly the plane during bad weather conditions at night and shouldn't have been taking passengers to make a profit either. My sympathy for him is somewhat limited. Obviously saw the pound signs when I suspect Sala's agent approached him.
What is he supposed to do? Send him off? I suppose he could have cautioned him for delaying the restart of play but that's it.
Bringing the game into disrepute isn't an offence that can be dealt with by match officials and timewasting is a yellow card offence.
It worked very well. I watched the match live and VAR was used twice and were very little stoppages. Both pens were correct, the first one given after VAR was consulted and the second one given by the referee and checked by VAR.
If that's a penalty then may as well just make it a non contact sport. What about the Morata one last week?
Omg. Of all the **** you post you have excelled yourself with that. What a totally stupid view without knowing all (or virtually no) facts. I imagine him and his family would be clearly devastated if they knew your sympathy is somewhat limited. I never really knew sympathy was conditional. I know I’m on ignore but it would be great if that ****wit realised how dumb and insensitive that post is, so hopefully someone will pull him up on it. I gotta put him on ignore cos that ill thought out view makes me mad and I can’t be ****ed to bother reading the drivel that twat spouts.
Yes by the laws of the game. There doesn't have to be contact to be a foul. If someone jumps in with two feet off the floor and misses the player completely it's still a foul and a red card. The concept applies to all criteria of fouls.
Well yes but they're hardly ever given, the fact is people are justifying it as a penalty because of the slightest of touches and touch doesn't, or shouldn't, equate foul. What was your view on the Morata one?
Yes!! The southampton based not606ers have blown their Wembley trip. Us “outsiders” are going to Wembley... que sera sera
That’s a bit harsh Tom. The bloke has lost his life. We don’t know all the ins and outs. It’s a very sad situation.
He just took a stupid and unnecessary risk. And he wasn't just gambling with his life. From what I've read, he was lax from the very start, even filling out forms wrong. Either he didn't look at the forecast and didn't know there was a storm over the English Channel which is incredibly silly or he knew and took the risk. Either way, it seems he got himself and Sala killed. If you're a pilot, you've got to be thorough with everything and follow the laws. It's just such a waste of two lives.
According to McKay the flight was moved to that night (it was supposed to be the next morning) because the pilot needed to fly on from Cardiff (can't remember where it was to...somewhere north). Perhaps Ibbotson had a personal reason or perhaps he had to return the plane....wasn't his after all. Sadly, a series of bad decisions which are of course down to the pilot....though he paid the price as well
