Kenny Dalglish today admitted Craig Bellamy and Sebastian Coates are 'chomping at the bit' to get their Anfield careers up and running as Liverpool look to maintain their early-season momentum at Stoke City on Saturday.

Bellamy and Coates were two late additions to the Reds' ranks as the transfer window closed last week - and the boss is delighted to have them onboard.

Dalglish told reporters at Melwood: "Sebastian was on Damien's radar for two years. Obviously he would have only been 18 then.

"He came to prominence in the Copa America when he won it with Uruguay and was voted Young Player of the Tournament - and that's not a bad accolade when you consider (Alexis) Sanchez went for 40 million to Barcelona. He must have played well!

"We're happy to have him in. We just need to give him time to settle down and we look forward to it.

"It's the same with Craig. He's really enthusiastic at being back and made a lot of sacrifices to come back, financially and otherwise, because of what the club means to him. We're delighted to have people with that attitude here."

The boss added: "I don't know why I've never signed him before in my managerial career. Maybe I wasn't working when he was available. He's always been somebody that has impressed me.

"He's got pace, quality, he loves this club - which is very important - and he'll be a fantastic asset for us."

On whether the pair were desperate to face Stoke this weekend, Dalglish said: "I would think so. I would hope so. I think everybody is chomping at the bit to be involved at Stoke."

Think we all know what Bellamy is capable of so I hope Kenny can get him to channel his energies 100% into what he does on the pitch rather than off it and he'll prove a good signing.
As for Coates I can't wait to see how he adapts to English football. Nothing is ever guaranteed especially when bringing in younger players but if this lad can transfer his international form to playing at Liverpool then we could potentially have an absolute diamond on our hands <ok>

Looking forward to Bellamy playing again, he gives us cover on the left and up front.

I wasn't exactly over the moon about this when I first heard he was coming back.....but the beauty of the fickle world of footy fandom is being able to radically change opinion at the drop of the proverbial hat :D Now I think Bellamy is gonna be sound <ok>

Once they have the shirt we do tend to back them. Some exceptions lately but that's Roy's fault.

I wonder who else is on Damien's Radar?? If Coates does as well as we hope he can then Comolli could prove to be more important to this club than any player on the pitch

Well i just don't like bellamy as a man but i can see what he did for man city on the left until they tossed him aside. If he really has the hunger still ( cos its not money) and he is actually fit (knees) then he can go do a job.

I don't know when coates will come in but i wanted a dominant CB and uraguay is as good a league as any to produce tough men. I hope he is the guy to take carra's place now but he could force out agger if our great dane gets more injuries

Theres one player that I'm sure is on Damien Comollis radar and thats Eden Hazard. I don't know if any of you watch the ''press box'' on LFCTV but one of the journalists apparently spoke to Kenny with regards to Joe Cole.

Kenny said ''Joe Coles atitude has been fantastic, even though he's not involved with the first team, he trains as if he is''. Liverpool due to this negotiated the best possible deal for Joe Cole, and the best deal was to join Lille on loan.

Lille have denied that the loan signing of Joe Cole has nothing to do with Eden Hazard, but they are going to say that publicly. There could be developments there in the foreseeable future, don't quote me on that, I'm just guessing.

Another Belgium player to look for ( although he just transferred) is Dries Mertens who plays at PSV. He was awesome in the game against the US the other day, him and Axel Witsel really stood out. Hazard was ok but those two in particular were outstanding.

I know the US aren't the best but we are certainly not the worst, and Mertens was killing us out wide. Looked a really good player. No, is the pic really bad? O face or something like that?
