I suspect that though Pearson would ideally add to his ranks as soon as the emergency loan window opens, we won't actually see anyone come in for another month.

The emergency loan window has a 93 day maximum loan period, so anyone brought in now would not be available for the play-off games, should we actually make it that far. Though there's only an outside chance of us pulling that off, I still think we'll wait a month, just to make sure.

After today, that will give us two home games and two away games, before we can bring players in for the Forest away game, making sure those players could them be available until the end of May.

When is Ayala fit again? Did he go to Derby in the end? If not, then that is our first one!

What so he can push Chester, our own player, out of the starting line up? I really dont understand that mentality.

I think that what we really need is someone to bulk up our midfield in the centre, someone with the talent to make defense splitting passes (much like Mclean's pass setting fryatt through against QPR)!

What would be the point in loaning in a centre half only to push our own player out of his preferred position?

We should loan in a left back capable of covering the centre and a left winger.

Ayala's a non-starter, it looks like we've completely given up on any chance of getting him back and he'll probably end up at Derby.

I'd like us to bring in a left back, who can also play centre back and we're obviously looking for a replacement for Ash, I don't expect more than two new additions.

You can break the loan up though, QPR did it with Tommy Smith.

If we brought them in next Saturday for the first 29 days that takes us up to and including the Coventry game. Let them miss the Norwich game and then it's an international break. To include the Playoff Final the remaining 64 days need to start on 25th March.

In theory we could take someone on a one month loan, then leave a gap, then take them on loan again on March 24th(the final day of the emergency loan window), until the end of the season.

It makes a bit of a mockery of the 93 day emergency loan limit and I'm surprised if there's no rules that prevent that being done, but it certainly might be an option.

we have room for two loan signings, who would people like to come in and in what position.
i'd like a defensive midfielder and an attacking midfielder that can play wide.
suggestions (i arent aware whether theyd be possible)
    :
    Michael Johnson (Man City)
Darren Ambrose (Crystal Palace) - very unlikely as a loan move

also would be happy with Neil Danns and Greening who we have supposedly been linked with.

If Mannone gets back to fitness will we see Guzan leave and then bring in 3 loan players?

    No.

You can only name five loan players in a matchday squad and we're not going to waste one on a keeper who's unlikely to make it on to the pitch.

I'd be amazed if we bring in more than two players(unless Nige thinks Dukey is completely useless).

Well the rule says 93 days at one club in a season, and thanks to it reminding me of FM we can almost certainly forget about Ayala (who joined in September) because he was an emergency loan last time so he'll have run out of days he can be with us. As we had him until the start of January we must have done something clever with his loan as well because we wangled an extra 19 days or so. (I'm guessing during the international break he'd technically gone back to Liverpool)

Ah yes. Had forgotten the limit of 5 in the matchday squad. Am confused by what you say OLM. Do you think we'll bring in two and see Guzan leave as opposed to bringing in 1 more (ie. was your answer to my double question yes/no)?

If we can offload Oxley to anybody on loan then we don't need to replace Guzan even if Duke is seen as totally useless.

Oxley out on loan, Guzan back to Villa leaves Mannone and Duke. If Mannone gets injured after that we'll only have 1 senior goalkeeper on our books and will be able to sign another on loan even after the March 24th deadline. If Oxley is still here we won't be able to.
