Hello, everyone. Just a note about Saturday’s selected, Burrows Edge. Somewhat frustrating to see him go down by a neck but if I’m honest I didn’t really think at any point, in the final half mile, that he was actually going to win. Ran on well from the last but whether he was ever going to get up I’m far from convinced. 25/1 available for the Coral Cup and 40/ 1 available re the Festival’s ‘lucky last’ should you think Burrows Edge will come on considerably for his seasonal debut. Not really sure what to make of Angels Breath later on Saturday. Was it a very good performance giving 5 lbs and just getting touching off by a more battle hardened performer at a track that wouldn’t have really suited Angels Breath or was it a disappointing defeat to a horse who has been beaten in his last 2 races??? I still can’t decide, troops. Still you pays you money and you makes your pick. Good money for him in the last 12 hours or so though re the Supreme – the ‘high’ of 14’s has all gone and the best is now 11/1 with a general 8’s or 9’s the price. One good thing though the latest supposed ‘reincarnation of Pegasus’ who I spoke about a while back, O Connell Street, has an entry in a bumper at Taunton on Thursday. A real ‘Lady Bracknell’ type as the dam is a half-sister to not 1, but 2, Champion Hurdle winners. A pedigree to drool over, people. Anyway, I’ll stop waffling and say ‘good luck all’.
Angels Breath looked one paced, even when Southfield Stone clattered the last he still couldnt show a turn of foot. I know hendos excuses about fitness and prep etc but the way he talked this horse up as the second coming of christ you would have thought it would of taken care of Southfield Stone whos bloody County Hurdle bound.
Bollox. The joys of antepost betting. I've had only a select few outside the nrnb races but this fella was amongst them at fancy prices.
Today's more mundane racing 3 45 utt Boreham Bill for Emma L , been backed in to 7/2 and Grade One , going against you in the 525 with Talk Like This 14s , handicap debut, form of his maidens is strong , could be a well handicapped horse , wide drawn but not always so bad at wolves, Martin D wyer is a good jockey
Dan Skelton at Uttoxeter. 1/3 strike rate overall rising to nearly 2/5 over the last year. Doubles and trebles on his horses. Lazy bet I know but just back from a week in Tenerife and feeling distinctly lethargic. I think I must be allergic to work! Good luck all
ayr,1 50: this looks very much a match between the two penalised ones here,NORTHERN SOUL and western honour, and while theres not a lot between them on form, the former probably has a bit stronger credentials, especially on his win two starts back, which has worked out well since, but even his second place last time out might be good enough,as he was beaten by a very useful rival that day.so,he gets a narrow nod..
So what's wrong with that Nass? Have I done something wrong?.. Just pretend I'm Alex Hammond (but only from a tipping point of view)
Gulliver 655 wolves so I've been told, he got from Kirby's driver but I think Kirby is a messer gl if you play
