Thanks to ToP on CI for spotting this one, Arsenal have taken legal action against a small hat shop in Spain, demanding that they change their name, which is Arsenale(named after shipyards in Pisa and Venice). It's thought likely that Sheffield Wednesday will follow suit, demanding that a week be shortened to six days and West Ham are claiming trade mark infringement on some of the items in the Sainsbury's cooked meat counter. What a completely stupid and unnecessary thing to do... http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/early-doors/article/348661/
Almost as embarrasing as the time when Mrs Beckham allegedly attempted to sue Peterborough for using "her" nickname, (The) Posh. She was completley laughed out of the courts as they had been using that nickname for 100 years or so.
It has absolutely nothing to do with Hull City. It is about a football team though, one most of us on here don't have a lot of time for. If you have no interest in it, then simply ignore it.
The funniest thing is that there are numerous Football clubs across Europe, Asia and the Americas who have 'Arsenal' in their name, yet Arsenal FC have no issue with them, nor do they have a problem with any Spanish hat-makers.
Are they not clubs with official links to them, like Real Salt Lake have Real because there's some link up with Real Madrid?
