the Poll has closed a bit early, I thought it closd just before Qualifying as practice means nothing. I guess I'll have to have my default guy then.

Wow, Schumi goes faster than Vettel by half a second. He's gone purple in the first sector easily. But why the heck hasn't Ricciardo set a lap yet? There's less than forty minutes left!

Hamilton will win, if the McLaren is fast in practice it will be even faster when it's racing.

Friday practice effectively means bugger all. Only FP3 gives a good idea of qualifying and race pace as we've seen so much this year.

Hamilton was quick on his 1st run. If Vettel gets pole it looks to me like he will have to do about 2-3 laps to get a competitive lap in.

Hi lads...Just seen this on the BBC live feed:

Two separate (and anonymous) texts on 81111: First up... "It would do McLaren no harm for Jenson to leave - he is not as good as Hamilton, but good enough to take points away from him on occasions. This will cost McLaren future titles if they do not follow Ferrari and Red Bull with a clear No. 1 driver."

I haven't included the second part, but why the feck would McLaren ever have a clear driver priority when they have been famous for their approach to drivers?

I personally love the fact that we have Jenson and Lewis racing for them<ok>

I was going to quote that too. some old english phrases to answer:

"2 heads are better than 1"
"dont put all your eggs in one basket"

And besides, Button is higher in the standings so why get rid of him?

apparently they might not be able to afford to keep button as they pay Hamilton too much! If they have an equal system then they should be getting payed the same dont you think.

Check who finished ahead last year while taking the brunt of the bad luck. Check who has a greater win-percentage rate. Check who's been a title contender at the last race more years. Stats can easily be used - not arguing JB should be dropped, just that your post has the intellectual value of something I excreted earlier. I wasn't pregnant BTW.

Given that they both have one title each then yes, definitely.

Err did they both not have two DNFs that were not their fault? It is also stupid to compare their win-percentage rates or title contender years because Hamilton has been in a car that is capable of winning races in every year of his career while Button has not, so it is completely redundant. Hamilton has had a car that was capable of winning the WDC three times and won it once, Button has had a car that is capable of winning the WDC twice and won it once as well.

The difference is Lewis' DNFs were when he was in better positions. I'm just illustrating sayin things like one title they're equal is ridiculous.

I think button and Hamilton make a good team, different styles but both very fast. Mclaren would be foolish to loose him at this current moment in time.

not really, if they both retired today, in 10 years time people would see them as acheived the same throughout their careers. its the same in every sport, teams/players get judged on what they win. hamilton has achieved nothing more than button.

this is only buttons 3rd season given a car that can win the title (2 of them were his first season for the team)
    it is hamiltons 5th season.

obviously hamilton should of won more races, and really he should of won more titles aswell,

Lets put it this way, if you had to put money on one of them becoming a double+ world champion before they retire who would you pick?

Considering the age difference I think that is a difficult question.
