I can't be bothered to read backwards but I assume that useless "I've got a sore back" Mark Noble is on here somewhere.
Certainly a disappointment - I think he broke his leg quite early in his time at City and never really got going.
Can't remember that Der Alte but I remember the fuss when he arrived, some didn't want the former Grimsby man at all, but at the time Grimsby had a Hull born lad in goal I believe, Harry Wainman.
I remember he played for the Seychelles. Him and Jamie Wood (who bizarrley played for the Cayman Islands) stick out for representing crap nations. I do recall Mark Yeates signing for us on loan and being ****ing terrible. Then seeing him play for Watford and Sheff U and being brilliant. Mike Edwards is still playing in non-league, somewhere.
The signings we made in the Ternent/ Pre-Dolan era are the worst I remember, 96 year old Gwyn Thomas, Tony Finnegan, the likes of Bamber. Fans about at the time will also remember the remarkable defensive pairing of the brilliant Jobbo and the shocking Neil Buckley. Not sure we've ever had such a mismatched pair of central defenders
nah, i remember him. he did manage to stick a few goals in and have an altercation with brian wet lettuce robson, who wasn't as good as anyone thought he was.
Neil Buckley was the worst centre half I remember playing for us. I remember seeing him in a William Hills on Greenwood ave... Me : You're Neil Buckley. Buckley : Smiles, yes mate. Me : You're ****.
greg rioch is anything but forgettable. known as "taz" at a previous club, after the cartoon character, earned us many a penalty by attempting to dribble into the opposing penalty area at max speed, knowing full well he'd get his ankle tapped.
Was that in Robson's return game after doing his shoulder at the world cup in 86? Remember there were about 4000 at BP for a Central League reserves match that night. Another one who seemed to be a perma-reserve was Paul Olsson and another was Tony Dobson, all from that sort of era.
