And as I'm hoping Bristol will find out today!!! Probably - he is ALWAYS going to struggle occasionally, but his speed is such an asset.
I have just seen a post on Facebook about Farke :- "he's had a kind and respectful word about every team we've faced, unlike a lot of the stuff that's thrown back at us." I have to say that is very true!
That's brilliant JMF and certainly could explain why we haven't heard many complaints about the lack of entertaining football this season! Yes, Godfrey took his goal well, as did McLean for both of his. Great comeback when we really needed it!
Interesting point from MB: "Norwich will certainly hope their opponent's form carries through, given their remaining fixtures. The Robins sit sixth – with Norwich top – and still have to play the rest of the top six: Leeds at home on March 9, before trips to Sheffield United and Middlesbrough in the space of four days to welcome April, and then a visit from West Brom soon after. Come on you Robins." Now that could make a difference as to how things finish, given that we only have the game with Boro left. Come on you Robins indeed! https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/6-things-learned-from-bristol-city-win-1-5904763
It reminds me of what Hughton tried to do - but Farke does it properly. Hughton was full of respect and admiration of everyone we faced, but expressed it in a way that suggested he was scared of them. With Farke, there's a confidence of "they're good at x, we will be better". Granted, it's much easier to be generous in your praise of the opposition when you're top of the league, but even when we weren't I feel like Farke struck a better balance.
With Hughton, it was overly respectful, in my opinion - verging on ass-kissing. In fact, it was all about the oppo, and nothing about how he / we planned to counter it, deal with it etc. A very nice man, but a fawning sycophant too.
Interesting article from DDF - Norwich City are the comeback kings in the Championship this season, after fighting back to win from a losing position for an impressive fifth time. https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/norwich-city-the-championship-s-comeback-kings-1-5907596 #noshitsherlock
Cracking article from MFW – re the +ves and –ves of promotion. Promotion EVERY time for me – even if it’s just to hear the pundits describe some of our goals!!!!! http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...-want-to-be-promoted-to-the-evil-pl/#comments
From today’s MFW and a guest Blogger - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...is-season-folks-we-wont-have-another-like-it/ This excerpt is particularly relevant – ‘There’s more, too: a relentlessly likeable squad of players that isn’t full of competing egos, but a team in the truest sense. There’s so much to relish: our thriving youngsters, Max, Ben, Todd, Jamal; Mo, Stiepi and Super Mario settling in, finding their form, defying their doubters; the renaissance of Zimbo, who was close to quitting football altogether; the battling Tommy Trybull and his baffling carrots hat; Emi’s magic feet and outsized influence; Onel’s head-down charges up the pitch; Teemu “on a free” Pukki confounding Celtic fans everywhere.’ IMO, the fact that we don’t have any players with MASSIVE egos is crucial.
Brilliant!!! The good news is that the one who is at Hearts - his contract expires in June!! #allthatmoneywellsave
Apologies if this has been posted previously - https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city...arco-stiepermann-vital-to-promotion-1-5905334
Absolutely promotion. Didn't Webber say that promotion to the PL would secure the club's finances for 15 years?
