Not certain Oddy (my women are at a horse show) but I would have thought rear shoes would have made it much worse. I suppose it depends what they are made of

"I wouldn't be disappointed with Angels Breath". Well I ****ing would. When I saw a replay of his previous run I wasn't too hopeful of my nap. Seems to have no gears whatsoever

That's my point Ron - many trainers are opposed to the new ruling as it can result in a much more serious injury if the rear hooves are shod (including slicing tendons). It would be interesting to know if Fusil Raffles did strike himself today and whether he had rear shoes fitted. Many trainers want to retain the right to decide whether a horse should have rear shoes exactly because some do tend to strike themselves and the rear shoe would make it worse.

well and truly disappointing.but i had the feel,he wasnt right somehow in the straight..

    kempton,3 35:

very competitive field, but i think,DOUBLE SHUFFLE is better than an handicapper, and his last handicap run was over two years ago.but not badly treated,as hes only 3 lbr higher than when last successful in a handicap.so,if at his best today, should be right in the mix here..

We have signed a petition to prevent the BHA from enforcing this rule to wear rear shoes. Can't see it coming in as there would be loads of trainers refusing

I think Mr Nicholls might be a tad frustrated with his jockeys there

Nearly as frustrated as me with Leighton Aspell. Keep GR at the back until everyone else has flown. Grrr!

Very speculative one this but Snooze Button at 25/1 in the first at Wolves could be better than the price suggests and worth a small ew punt
