I’ve not had a look at the papers yet today. Are there any hugely OTT headlines about this guy and is Barry from Lincoln demanding he rot in the desert for some unspecified crime?

I suspect his future depends on his value to the Kurds as a bargaining chip. The West are currently in the process of abandoning the Kurds, who fought actively against Isis.
