Surely the questions for any Glasgonian would be;

What you call a young lout - Ned
Child - Wean
What do you call a roll? - A ROLL YA FUD

 

What about "Wood Lice" or "Slater"?

I've eaten wood lice, they taste like wee shrimps. Fried worms taste like bacon.

 

The weirdest things I’ve ate is the usual French delicacies of snails legs and frogs.

Surprisingly - tasted like ****.

 

Mine came back in the Middle East

 

South East England, thank ****. Was worried my brain might have been infiltrated by Paddy ancestors, but nope.

I had to tread carefully, I've picked up a lot of slang from old army mates like mucker, gutties, chav, et al, I had to set my mind to revert to my original Glasgow patois

 

Gutties is Glasgow patter

 

I never heard it in the 40s, I called them Sannies.

 

40s?

 

Gutties is Scottish surely. We all had gutties when I was a kid.

 

Gutties in Belfast too. Although it's softer like guddies.
