I also prefer to use my eyes rather than stats to assess players tbh.

You are literally the only person I know that still thinks that he was at fault for that pen.

You've also conveniently forgotten that we were only level because he had scored and would've lost without that goal anyway.

Still doesn't change my opinion that he looks like the weak link every time he plays.

It's an opinion that you are entitled to but it does tend to cause you to prejudge and blame him unfairly sometimes for all defensive ills.

I am hoping we start with Redmond and Obafemi up front.
I didn’t see all the Arsenal v Bate game but saw enough in the first 15 minutes, or so, to indicate early passes to quick players running through the back line could be the way to trouble them.
Bate did it 2 or 3 times without having a decent final ball.

Everyone is guilty of that in their own way though.

People who trust their eyes and don’t believe stats remember what their brain keeps as memories so have their own bias as well.

I just meant that it's natural that poor play by players you don't rate will be exaggerated but you won't see it as much with favourites.

I'd settle for a draw, but, although it will cause pain during the match, I would like us to score a late equaliser in the 8th minute of time added on.....if you still get eight minutes when Saints are behind? I suspect you don't. There is a conspiracy out there.

If Saints are behind you'd need about 16 minutes of actual stoppage in the game for the ref to give 8 minutes of time added on...and he'd then blow the final whistle at 6 minutes.

Welcome to the real world, Fran! I'm sure I'm not the only one to remember Rory Delap putting us 2-1 up at Arsenal only for the referee to keep playing until Arsenal equalised. I think there were about two weeks of injury time, and the ref was getting to red card any Saints player who touched the ball!

Those dropped two points, and the two lost at home to Everton with a late equaliser, were pretty instrumental in sending us down. I really am getting nervy about conceding 99th minute goals!

No, that's not how it works. We can't "scapegoat" any of the players who came throught the academy no matter how average they are. But if they were bought they are free reign.

Tough one to call I think, I mean we will most likely lose, but not sure if we will get battered or if it will be close. Depends how much the Bate game took out of Arsenal, and which Arsenal turn up. Lets pray for Iwobi playing and not Ozil, if Ozil plays I fear we could get hammered.

All our centre backs are fine. There, problem solved.
