I guess the first pen highlights the problems with VAR as it was totally missed to start with and took 3 minutes for someone else to decide and let the ref know, and the opinion on the penalty still varies! I personally thought it was harsh but if it was my player shooting would no doubt be claiming it was a penalty. I thought the ball was hit hard and he had very little reaction time to move it out of the way, but still tried to (slow-mo always makes it look worse too)
I realise most people were watching the City game, so for that reason Morata’s disallowed goal for Atletico won’t get much press coverage in the U.K. But believe me, it’s the single worst refereeing decision I’ve seen since Lampard’s WC goal against Germany was disallowed in 2010. Absolutely ****ing atrocious decision, based on VAR.
So let's stop one form of cheating which is incredibly rare to encourage another form which is already a huge issue? Good shout that. Giving **** official's technology won't make them any better, in fact it will probably make them lazier and therefore worse. As for time wasted, asking for bookings etc. That's already in the refs hands so I fail to have sympathy when they're the ones who have the power to stop it.
Yeah I've seen it. Also read the reports of Pep saying it's all good, pound to a penny he wouldn't be saying that if they had lost.
The problem is simpletons can't understand the bigger picture than 'IT WILL GET SOME THINGS RIGHT' Much like 'it will stop big team bias ' Deluded set of ****s
You one of them ****s who thinks spending 3 weeks in a pub discussing a free kick wrongly given is all part of the beautiful game
Goal line technology has definitely improved the game. VAR is utter ****. This has nothing to do with being resistant to technology, only pointless technology that slows the game down and improves nothing.
Hawkeye as used in tennis, cricket and goal line technology is a simulation by computer using six or seven cameras and has fixed parameters. There was also talk of Hawkeye actually replacing line judges for the US open in2019, but I don’t know if that is actually happeningIt is also only concerned with one moving object, the ball. VAR uses actual footage and has far more than one moving object. It will improve as time goes on. It is ridiculous to not use technology to make the best sport in the world even better.
