It's been said by some that the seals are better because they can balance beachballs on their noses, but these people are idiots. It's sea-lions that balance beachballs on their noses, not seals.
Nowhere and rightly so. There are only 2 decent units in the FFL (The Rep Para Units), the rest are ****e.
On further research it appears that the FFL doesnt qualify as a special ops unit so to speak so there you go. Still I would never regard the US Rangers as a special ops force, even MI6????? Surely the spetnaz should be higher
To join the SAS you must have served at least 3 years in the UK armed forces before you can apply to go for selection. You can join most US SF units straight from Civvy street, including the SEALS. SEAL Team 6 are slightly different, in that they recruit existing SEALS.
The SBS is a step up from the SAS, you can drop down from SBS training to SAS. The SBS are number 1. However nowadays they do lot's of joint opps. Like inshore opps.
I thought they were all equal just in defferent areas of the armed forces. Special Air Service (airforce), Special Boat Service (navy) etc
Yes they are recruited from different, branches of the armed forces. but to my knowledge my above statement is true. I was in the Navy (submarines) and we did inshore op's with them both.
http://www.specialboatservice.co.uk/special-air-service.php Good website.... says they are both same as eachother... my info coming from an SBS guy was maybe his own opinion of it all.
And how does one "drop down" from the SBS to the SAS exactly? The two Units are entirely different entities with no real connection - apart from joint operations and exercises. Recruitment for the SBS has NOTHING to do with recruitment for the SAS so i'm afraid you are talking nonsense or at the WUM.
