May bugs are seriously horrible things, though fortunately, I've never seen this many at once..
I dont ever remember seeing any when i lived in Hull but there everywhere in poole and bournemouth first time i did see one it dive bombed me and i admit i screamed like a little girl lol but thats cause it came from nowhere and aimed for my face haha
They're actually called Cockchafer Beetles, which is a bit concerning. They are nicknamed May-Bugs, as they only come out in May. I get quite a lot of them flying into the lights outside my house, one got in the bathroom this summer, they make a hell of row and fly into everying. I couldn't get out, I had drown the bastard in he bath.
They sound lovely!!! I'm not surprised they've got a nickname. You wouldn't want to be heard talking about the cockchafer you suffered in the bathroom
I'd never seen a may bug until this year when my cats brought about 5 home and started eating them. I thought it was a cockroach at first
You could say I'm obsessed...I am! The ****er was like this one:
Vespa is the Italian word for wasp and the scooter got it's name from the whining noise the engine made. Fortunately, nobody thought to call a Lambretta a Bop-bop-bop...
Another pet hate of mine is those little black bugs that do nothing but piss you off and land on anything with a bit of colour on it (thunder bugs i believe theyre called)
Its the wasps that have done my head in this year just so many of them, Loads of ladybirds too but Im not that much of a wuss that they bother me
I have done this before mate. Scarred for life is all i can say. It's the worst feeling in the world!
That is hideous! It takes everything i have to bloody catch a little one and chuck it out the window, nevermind a bugger that size!
I had to post this somewhere. I took this in our shed, the biggest Spider I have ever seen in the UK, definitely the nastiest looking one. I don't even know what to do with it, scares the **** out of me. I think thats its nest and eggs next to it? I just took a video, might uplaod it to youtube, yes that's how bored I am at the moment. please log in to view this image
I was on the train once from sevenoaks and me and my girlfriend at the time got bitten by a unidentified tropical insect, i was in and out of hospital for weeks. Doctor reckoned someone had brought something back with them from holiday, still got 4 scars on my leg from it. It was on the local news as a few other people ended up getting bitten as well (busy main commuter line). Scary. My pet hate though are flying ants!
One of my cats caught a ****ing wood pigeon not long back and managed to jump over an 8 foot wall with it in his mouth! He's a killing machine! Mice and birds all the time. Not had a bat yet but he did try taking on a hedgehog, needless to say, he came off worse!
