This is true, you only have to read Astro's progress thread to see that Alisson makes very few saves compared to most keepers, if he saved more you would be well clear at the top by now.
You really need to listen to players and managers mate, the only people who don't give a crap about it is those who's teams are not good enough to try and win it.
Not so sure on that Diego City are a lore unto themselves cause whatever team they play is a top side but Most of the other teams don’t seem to put out their ‘1st 11’ not payed much attention as we not in it but even you boys didn’t play de gea tonight I think it’s very sad And personally I think we will lose sharpness during all these breaks Much rather be in it Carabao tricky as it destroys jan if you proflgress but the others ...
We rarely play de Gea in cup games, we have a very good back-up who needs game time to keep him sharp.
Thats fair enough I really dont like admitting this but we are not good/strong enough to challenge on three/four fronts so i understand (not agree or like) that the gaffa has clearly prioritised. I think the way most managers view the cup is as a bonus, they put out sides they think can win and if they are still it then great but otherwise no drama. Think the cups are more a fan thing but IF and its a massive IF Klopp delivers this title Everything will be forgotten
Really key few weeks coming up which will determine our season (after an amazing season so far). Progress or not in the CL : Bayern matches Winning the premiership title: The match at Old Trafford followed by that against Spurs. If we lose against the mancs not only do we get neck and neck with City (having lost our game in hand) we come within striking distance of Spurs. They can overtake us with a win. They have Been coming on the blind side, almost unnoticed.
Spurs have a good side and they never really dropped away, lots of footy to play yet but we're in a title race and it's been brilliant to watch so far. Just need to take it one game at a time City and Spurs both have difficult fixtures as well.
Astro/mito You two both seem knowledgable on this sort of stuff. How long have they been letting teams rearrange their games in hand for league cup final to before the final, and how come both tea,s didnt playon the same night, ie City and Chelsea, city played everton but Chelsea did not have a game ?
they have not been. Normally the teams in the final have had the games rearranged only once they are in the final and then rescheduled later in the year. example: Last years final was arsenal v man city. However there was also the 2018 world cup coming as well. on the 23rd feb all 20 prem sides had played 27 games. on the 25th all but arsenal and city had played 28 source is http://www.footstats.co.uk/index.cfm?task=leagues you can look up the tables on any day you want sample for 2017... man utd beat southampton on 26th feb on 24th feb all teams had played 25 games. On the 26th there were 4 teams on 25 games still. the two finalists and their opponents. It is more complex than just stating city got to play game in hand before the final. they played everton on the 6th of feburary and this fixture was supposted to be played this weekend. cheslea were meant to play brighton. cheslea have still not confirmed when this is. They are in europa as well and now the FA cup is done for cheslea they may or may not fit this in as the window of clear weekends for fa cup is passed. In short as everton are crap they facilitated city here but if you look at city's fixutres played 26th jan 29th jan, played 3rd feb played 6th feb, played 10th feb. This move was their choice to squeeze game in and everton facilitated them... this was done on the 27th January and announced. If you want to figure out why everton chose to squeeze a really hard game into a midweek slot where they ended up losing all 3 games please let me know when you are done that maths. No consipiracy here. City got it out of the way. everton facilitated them. there's no rule that says after semi final you can't rearrange the game whenever you like. City took the pain early to avoid the crunch later. cheslea just look stupid cos they really should have tried it on cos europa will really make it hard to accommodate this game.
It’s hilarious how bad a left back alonso is. Makes moreno look competent. First goal alonso just completely switches off and let’s smallest guy on pitch get a free header. Second goal, great cross, header straight at keeper who pushed it in. Chelsea just look toothless unless hazard is playing 10/10
