Nice to see my fav getting a mention. Apparently I sound like Buddy Holly. My karaoke version of Maybe Baby is" indistinguishable" from the record. I must record myself one day to see if they are taking the piss
Just seen Nicholls say that frodon probably idled in front in the Cotswold chase because he’d just had his flu jab
Henderson said last week that he felt Angels Breath had been "Overhyped" The horse is entered in a fairly straight forward looking race at Sandown on Friday but the ground is pretty heavy there. He's also engaged at Wincanton on Saturday and Huntingdon on Sunday, with Wincanton currently having the best looking prospect of better ground. At Haydock on Saturday, Quel Destin and Torpillo are both entered and jocked up for the Victor Ludorum. It has been Torpillo's target since he last ran but perhaps he won't get ground as soft as originally thought. It's the Acid Test for Torpillo regarding his Triumph Hurdle prospects and my ticket could be in the bin before Sunday. Quel Destin got a bit of a kicking on the form of his last win when narrow runner-up Adjali got a thrashing next time up from the aforementioned Fakir D'Oudairies. The pair have a fair bit in hand of the other entries on current ratings and it will be interesting to see who goes off favourite in a race which should help clear the Triumph Hurdle picture, even if Sir Erec is an apparent shoo-in now. Sir Erec was impressive last time but that previous race he won has been god awful, with zero winners from 34 subsequent starts. Looks like O'Brien JR has inherited his Dad's ability to put a horse out totally undercooked first time up and then produce a totally different equine athlete next time.
I see Le Prezien is only one pound higher than the mark he won the Grand Annual last year.Must have a decent chance of placing if he gets in so took a slice of 20s ew just now.
Just four runners in the Victor Ludorum and it's virtually a match between Torpillo and Quel Destin. Hopefully one of them will win decisively and lay down a challenge to "good thing" Sir Erec. Presenting Percy misses his engagement this weekend in the Red Mills. It was described as a shock absence in the Racing Post. Perhaps the ground is not soft enough again? I don't like the preparation of Presenting Percy this season and he's terrible value for the Gold Cup in my opinion.
Elusive Belle was very impressive when she hacked up at Wincanton and runs today at Sandown.Ive backed her 8s ew for the Mares Novice hurdle as she has the best form to go on so far this season and im not sure if Mullins has another Laurinha in his ranks this season.
Just looking at the GC. CDO into 11/2 second fav now. Ran 4 times at Cheltenham and lost each time, twice odds on. Puts me off.
Terrible run from Torpillo in the Victor Ludorum and I have binned my Triumph Hurdle ticket already. Hard to evaluate Quel Destin's performance with the rank outsiders finishing 2nd and 3rd. The Racing Post gave Quel Destin as winning with a run of 129, which was 8 lbs below his best figure from them. Torpillo only rated 113 yesterday, 23 lbs less than the two performances of 136 on his other starts. Both horses were miles off their official ratings of 146 and 145, which look very inflated to be frank. Torpillo had been aimed at Haydock in the hope of very soft/heavy ground but he didn't get those conditions on the day. His hurdling was poor, one effort particularly awful but even allowing for those factors it was a pathetic effort and a huge setback to his career going forward. Quel Destin keeps winning but we didn't really learn much about his Triumph prospects the way the race unfolded.
Blaklion and Champers On Ice both, in theory at any rate, qualified for the Pertemps Final on Saturday. 33/1 and 25/1 are available respectively. Coole Cody remains a 50/1 shot, team.
Link to the preview nights if your arsed reading it.Elliot saying Storyteller is going to the Ryanair will hurt a few AP punters I'd say. http://www.fatjockey.com/forum/showthread.php?15156-Cheltenham-Festival-Preview-Nights-2019/page5
Yes, I think many punters on him in The Coral Cup. I'm very angry with Elliott, not only for Blow By Blow but also for Envoi Allen. He has had enough of saying many times throughout the season that he wasn't going to run in Cheltenham and now suddenly takes him to the bumper. I hope Mullins has something out there hiding or a mare comes and wins like the last few years.
