This proves that we can't play 442 when Wyke is one of the two. He's useless. No strength, **** in the air, no positional sense or footballing brain. Injuries gets mentioned but unless he's playing with a broken leg I don't see him getting better in any of those areas.
I've been giving him time but he's done absolutely **** all for us since he came back from injury. Don't rate him at all.
Yes, first good look I have had at Wyke....he looks poor. Maybe rusty but his touch looks poor and overall he was shocking tonight
If it's a choice of having him or someone like Maguire on the pitch I know what I'd choose. Leagues apart in quality and usefulness.
Well the last half an hour we suddenly looked a different team, Onien so close to making that 3-2. We can not afford to keep giving teams a head start, need to start things off at a much quicker pace.
Credit to Smyth for them, cracking little player and McGeady for us for dragging us back into it. Honeyman also played well in the second half at least. Lessons learned regarding Wyke and the formation. 442 doesn't suit us and we don't have the players for it. We need numbers in midfield or we can't carry the ball forwards.
Not putting any pressure on top 2 so can't see them letting slip. Barnsley and Luton would have whopped Accrington tonight.
The one thing you can't deny about this squad is they never give up. just a pity our defence choose tonight to have an off day, still lots to play for and work to do for Jack Ross.
I can see Grigg's usefulness, he didn't quite manage to score but his quality was evident. Once he gets off the mark and gets his eye in I think he will do well for us.
