You have given in too easily. Have you tried to resolve it through the Support section in the app? Or did you before you deleted it? Also by dumping Hills you have given up the free bets given Saturday and Sunday from the scratch and match offer. Sky have a similar weekly offer, bet £25 receive a £5 free bet on a Monday. And don't forget IBAS
I worked in the bookie business basically between 2011-2016. Serious bookies (as I'd classify William Hill) will of course pay you the win for the bet if there's evidence/facts showing that there was indeed 4 cards in the game. The betting support department will settle on their sources (which aren't always correct) and tend to be stubborn b*stards. When I worked for customer service I basically got into a heated argument with one of the betting supports fellas because he wouldn't listen to me/look properly at the evidence. The customer talked to me through live chat (and I agreed with him), had the betting support fella on the phone. Took me a good hour of finding more sources before they changed the settlement. As several others have said. Bookies are scared ****less of organisations such as IBAS and will in some cases rather settle with the customer if something is somewhat uncertain than go that way.
I did live chat in the app and they said they would investigate but to no avail. William hill use 2 sources for results...flashscores and BBC. But both of them had it wrong as the card was not shown on tv. So I have the official sfa website saying 4 cards, the club TV showing 4 cards, and the player himself tweeting me to confirm he was booked but they are not William hill sources.
Straight to IBAS. BBC and flashscore do not govern the rules the game was played under. If you had bet on a donkey race on Brid beach, or a jumper for goalpost three and ya in, yes I can see the reluctancet to pay out.
I have checked hills bet acceptance rules. On a mobile so can't copy exactly, but they state bets are settled in real time, from information as you state, and the final paragraph specifically exclude post event governing body rulings. Fook me, they are hiding behind their rules. What a surprise. I would suggest they have therefore paid out for three or less bookings. Still worth a go with IBAS.
Ok thanks so much for info. Was gonna just leave it but I have now been in touch with ibas and they have put a claim in..thanks guys
The BBC site shows 4 bookings which is why I struggle to understand why they haven't paid out. The last place any bookie wants to go is IBAS as they generally find in favour of the punter, and for that amount it baffles me?
Well I know never to use William Hill. Looking forward to you getting this sorted. Should send your story to the sun or some other bog roll rag that will happily print it.
Just an update..after further investigation William hill have paid out...only took 2 1/2 months but alls well that ends well.
Glad you got it sorted , I wonder how many times this happens , they are very quick to take any bet you want to put on though aren't they ?
Post match they will have paid out for three bookings. I would imagine your claim would form part of a mass action on behalf of those with four, and now having to settle those bets. Awwww poor bookie
