Hard to tell; there's only a handful that fit into the category of top 10 players in the world, and in my opinion the only way of really proving you are is reaching the finals of something big like the Champions league or world cup.

Honestly? A player that has it all in his locker and is yet to hit his peak.

    Wayne Rooney.

Special mention though to David Silva who I will admit I thought he was over-rated before he come to City but that lad can do virtually anything with a football. For such a little lad he plays like he has a forcefield around him. Nobody can touch him.

I think you have to look at players who would still look world class in average teams. All the above you mentioned would still look world class in average teams.

so to break away from the norm I'll go for Vidic

EDIT : David villa is a good shout too.

Wayne Rooney you must be joking he is nowhere near as good as David Silva or Sergio Aguero. Why even Didder Drogba on his day is beter then Rooney.
Wayne Rooney needs to learn to control his temper if he ever wants to earn the title of 1 of the best players on the planet, he is nothing but an overrated big bully who throws tantrums when things don't go his way.

David Silva perhaps, though he hasn't got the heading ability Rooney has. Doesn't have his passing range, his tackling ability. The way he will drop back into midfield to win possession and he can't finish as well as Rooney can either.

Aguero? Has potential but give him a few years at the top like Rooney has been at near enough all his career. I would put Tevez above Aguero anyway.

Drogba a few years ago yes but at nearly 34 he is coming to the end of his career and his diving at every opportunity leaves a mark against his name.

Villa, Ozil, Dani alves, Casilas, Kun Aguero, Fabregas, Jovetic, Robben. D.silva aswell. All would get in to a world XI, after those.

Suarez is head and shoulders above Rooney and theres no debating that, Is Suarez world class?, that is another question. However he's light-years ahead of Rooney in terms of skill, and again that cannot be debated.
