i don't understand how they can do this? its basically saying i will keep delaying and delaying until i get my own way!!!
yeah.... probably the brexit secretary What he meant imo was if may doesn't get the exact withdrawal agreement we already have passed based on the future relations deal being basically a customs union (aka labour support) then there will be a year or more delay to article 50. The EU aint for renegotiating.
Its not really the same thing is it? What may is doing to parliament is not what the uk is begging the EU for. May is string uk parliament along yes as you say but shes the one being told no **** off by thr EU as they did an agreement and they aint changing it
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-47219386 what I see are the following options: 1. a deal on future trade is struck internal to UK between corbyn and May (not worth paper its written on) That enables a cross party acceptance of current deal. Thus eliminating need for hardliners like DUP and brexiteers in tories to agree to back stop 2. one or both parties break party discipline to back may's deal. As in enough labour votes break off to back it. OR enough hardliner just abstain this time 3. One or both parties have a break in party discipline and a no to "no deal" is voted through and then an extension to article 50 is sought. 4. A different party put no confidence motion down on government. AND enough tories vote for it this time. leads to GE. which means extension to article 50. The reality of 3 and 4 is that the uk backstop arrangement isnt going away. If you read the withdrawal agreement it really is the worst case the EU are willing to accept as a future (the backstop is there to assure this open border indefinitely. The EU would have accepted a split down the irish sea but the tories themselves threw that out and went further with uk wide arrangement). any future deal will either start at : a) WTO levels b) the withdrawal agreement level and back stop Its really that simple. it goes round and round and round and round and always comes back to the fact that UK negotiated something then after agreeing it backed off it so now theres two choices and not a magic third one on offer. I just fee now theres a staring contest about who breaks first. May IMO should give in now if she wants to get it done by 29th march then walk away as she's no skin in game regarding tories winning next election. Corbyn wants the win, to look the man. thats all... give him that and he'll vote in the withdrawal deal and we can all move on with our lives. Conversely defeat motion for no "no deal" motions and leave with no deal. New referendums, extensions etc etc are just trying to kick the can down the road and not deal with the issue we've created. Its been created not by the original referendum and lies really... if we respect that vote (which i don't agree with and think was lies etc) then the thing that should have happened was a clear cross party development of "what will brexit look like" before article 50 was triggered and negotiations on that basis. At least then if the deal on offer was a problem they all have skin in game. still we do not know what future relationship we want... STILL! customs unions, norways, canadas, ****ing this or that.. we can't settle on how to get out never mind how to live with europe after. Its flaming pathetic.
Brexit news latest: Theresa May faces Valentine’s Day revolt as Tory hardliners vow to keep no-deal alive heresa May faces a Commons revolt by Tory Right-wingers amid chaos over her Brexit policy. Members of the hardline European Research Group said they will vote against the Government tomorrow night, putting her at risk of another humiliating defeat. The clash erupted over the wording of a government motion that “supports” a previous Commons vote that opposed crashing out of the EU without a deal. ________________________
Out of curiosity, are there any opinion polls in UK anymore tracking how many people still approve of Brexit? It seems baffling to me, after all that has happened that people would still be in favour. Is this a case of the government saying "I'm going to the pub" only to discover the pub is in the process of burning to the ground, but deciding to go in anyway because they said they would.
No, I mean all the media outlets are biased on way or the other and so polls are full of loaded questions.
https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2019-brexit-deal-public-sentiment/ You can look at us sites which in this case might just be putting it together more unbiased... though again... if they are trump supporting they want no deal. When you look you see a large rump of total morons who now think no deal at all is the way to go cos a few landline Brexiteers have decided so. What none of these will tell you is this is not only a uk/eu deal. A hard no deal Brexit effectively resets the UK to who trade globally. That includes the USA, China, where ever.
Ford decline to comment on closure of 2 plants totally 7000 jobs or more if no deal happens. As in decline to deny it as well as confirm it.
think its disgusting all these companies threatening to pull out uk when we leave brexit. should start making our own stuff again like we used too!! **** em all ****s!!!
Well... they are entitled to do what they want. theres a reason we don't make them. top gears done shows on this for years upon yeas. p.s. did you or your family have a British leyland car all through til there was no option ro did you have a ford or toyota or whatever when they became available. Incompetence and poor quality did for the british car industry. My view would be its been good that nissan came to sunderland and that ford has supported a british car industry for years upon years. They have warned consistently that no deal = calamity for their business. All they've done is declined to comment on a news headline. But to not deny it could all close is serious in my view.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-47233605 this is the face of corbyn's labour. Bitching moaning communists harping on about 1910 and the proletariat. Calling winston chruchill a villain is a great way to secure votes and win the heart sof voters... MORON Its 19 ****ing 10... its a historic event but the slavering ultra lefts love to play to the union power.
What? It’s about cost management. Brexit and especially a no deal outcome, will add cost to production, with tariffs applying on imported parts and materials, and on the completed product if exported. We also lose the frictionless trade that comes with being in the single market and customs union. This means additional checks at borders, slowing down movement of goods in the supply chain, plus the additional administration required to produce all of the customs clearing documentation, adds further cost, complication and potential lost production time, as these plants work on a ‘just in time’ basis. Any delays to components shipments and the lines can grind to a halt within hours. So these companies are merely stating facts. If their costs increase, then they’re likely to seek to relocate over time to non tariff bearing nations that benefit from being in the SM & the CU. Your anger is therefore misplaced, aim it at those who have driven this utterly futile debacle & those who are currently overseeing the self inflicted uncertainty.
i hear you tobes, and you seem more clued up on this ****e than me. just find it disgusting companies can avoid paying taxes in this country or the rich have clever accountants to avoid **** etc, yet the ****ing minute a hard working person struggles to pay the extortionate bills they have to pay now days esp if its to the government you are straight in court and ****ed, yet phedos etc or tax dodgers can do as they ****ing please!!. need to start bringing pride back to this country and producing our own goods, yeah i know most of the factories have all been turned into houses or flats!! says it all really!!!
in other worrying news.... air bus has announced the unrelated ceasing of production of the airbus a380 due to no demand. this is primarally down to the airports just not adapting to us the giant plane imo. however..... this will have job impacts in UK potentially and air bus will now be making the smaller aircraft more... will they shut down plants here rather than retool? I dont know.. anyone know?
you are putting two entirely different things together here.mate. tax rules are the issue the world over. the twch giants are shafting us all on tax but it wont matter if they are in uk or not. they are still at it. building our own stuff and having pride is an entirely different conversation to tax avoiding corporations. the do here fact is if you go to supermarket there can be a Danish bit of bacon at cheaper price than UK bacon and that goes right across the board. people vote with pocket. it's fine to say buy British only until you realise what you have to give up.
trouble is to extend runways etc you need to get planing permission which involves hearing the residents of the area having an input. same as building out in the countryside as we have a shortage of housing in this country. the rich seemed to have an influence and moan like **** if its on their doorstep, but somewhere else don't care.
